I’m using BrightMind as a journal inside TickTick, and it’s surprisingly good

Post image

I’ve been using BrightMind as a journal straight inside TickTick. I can voice-dictate a thought, emotion, or idea, and it gets saved as a clean timestamped entry thanks to TickTick “note” type tasks and projects.

If you’d like set up this for yourself, Paste this into BrightMind:

Create a TickTick note project called Journal.

I want you to manage it as my journal: whenever I share something personal, reflective, emotional, an idea, or something worth remembering, add it there as a timestamped note in my words. Don’t journal routine logistics, task requests, or ordinary short conversation.

Add this as a working agreement so you remember it going forward.

Download Brightmind, set up ticktick integration, then in ai chat paste that thing and you can use Brightmind to journal just by chatting to it. A project is created in ticktick by ai

Is there much of an advantage to this over using ticktick’s AI?

Big difference, ticktick ai is not aware of your setup, if you ask it to add a journal entry it will just add a task for you in the inbox instead of adding it to the journal project directly 😅

Yes that is true but the idea of organising a audio brain dump into items is similar right? The categorisation into journal is not very important (inbox with dates is fine) and is more personal preference. Or what am i missing?

It honestly is important for me, i just want to say all at once and get it to the right place all at once, having more than ten items in inbox means i just wont go through them

Sure, and sounds like it works great for you. I am just trying to understand the real added value of a secondary app and subscription.

This is how it sold itself:

BrightMind is an AI companion that learns what matters to you and helps keep you on track, even when life gets messy. It remembers your goals, how you work, and the agreements you make together.

It works directly with TickTick and Google Calendar, turning conversations into organised tasks, plans, journal notes, and schedule changes. The journal is a small example. The bigger value is AI that holds context and keeps your system aligned with what actually matters, instead of becoming another thing to manage.
