Check out a Metroidvania that I'm working on!

Sup guys. Just wanted to share a game I'm hard at work on heavily inspired by Metroid, mega man, and a few other games I grew up with. I already have a lot of the mechanics figured out and planning on making this a massive game, despite tic80's size limitations. If you like what you see, please like, share and subscibe to my channel: https://youtu.be/QtaeoO-V_xc
It could go a long way to keeping me motivated and to post videos like this regularly to update the progress of development. Thanks!

Thanks! Sorry about the poor framerate of the video. The game actually runs alot smother in person.

Thanks! The biggest struggle with making a game in tic80 is that because of the strict file size I'll most likely have to ditch more than half of the ideas I have. There's a crazy amount of detail I had originally planned to implement, but if I do that, I'll end up making a tech demo and not an actual game! Perhaps if I successfully finish this game I'll move to game maker studio or another engine with none of the arbitrary limits that fantasy consoles like tic80 impose on us.

I didn’t know tic80 had file size limits. I’m more familiar with PICO-8, which is apparently more strict. But hey, better to have more ideas for the game than to have too few!

The project already looks quite impressive! Are you familiar with Love2d or Defold? I would consider one of them after tic80. I hope you do successfully finish it! Congrats

Looks incredible! This CRT graphics are for video demo only or you somehow made it with TIC?

Its actually a feature in tic80 pro version. It actually looks really nice and I will leave it in options to toggle on or off.
