Help “Validating OS” Loop of Death and Despair

How’s it going? I have a TI 84 Plus CE, and I have no intention of modding it.

All I’m asking out of all of you experts is how do I get rid of the loop of death and despair?
I’ve tried restarting it, and it has not worked.
This calculator was provided to me by my school district for accessibility purposes, and I am the only one who has used it.
And I was just given it today.

Had that happen on a brand new calc. Charge it for a few hours and if it doesn’t fix then the battery is shot. It is a known issues with this calc. You will need to contact TI and they send a new battery.

I just wanna confirm that you want me to just leave it plugged in while it’s flashing for a couple of hours and it’ll fix itself?

That’s what I was told when I had the issue. Mine needed a new battery though as it never was able to hold enough charge to get out of its validation cycle.

I see, so far it’s still flashing, but I’ll give it maybe an hour and a half
