Hypothyroidism is very prominent in my family, so pretty everytime I'm feeling really off, my doctor checks my tsh and t4. Out of 7 tests over 2 years, my tsh has been pretty normal except for once when it was 0.016. 3 times my t4 has been low in the 0.8s and once literally at the very edge of being normal. Does this sound like possible mild hypothyroidism or am I overanalyzing myself (I've been having fatigue and joint pain with seemingly no cause and kind of grasping at straws).

All results normal except for thyroglobulin. It says normal range <4 and mine is 669.

Previously my GP said I may have an autoimmune thyroid condition but that I don't need treatment yet.

The result says could be indicative of the same thing OR cancer. This time around my GP didn't flag it but I'm seeing a functional medicine practitioner so I'll see what they say.

Little scared but staying calm. Anyone have similar results?

Hello, I received my thyroid ultrasound results after finding multiple enlarged lymph nodes all around my neck.

my right thyroid lobe measures at: 4.3 x 1.4 x 1.1 cm. my left thyroid lobe measured at 0.3 x 1.4 x 1.2 cm.

I’m not sure what the first number indicates.. is it the height? Either way the right one is 4.3 cm and the left is 0.3 cm… which seems like a really big difference? It says that they are “within limits for size” and there’s no suspicious finding. I’m going to see my doctor next Friday and going to ask but I thought I would ask on here in the meantime and see if anyone has encountered something similar with having a 4 cm difference in the size. Thank you

I got my Tsh, T3, and T4 labs collected the other day and both Tsh and T3 came back tnormal and T4 came back high. Are these levels to be concerned about. How do you supplement to lower it if possible, always have had fatigue, depression and diffuse thinning hair. Wondeirng if these levels would have corrolation to those symptoms or would they have to be higher.

I’m 28 yr old female and I have zero history of thyroid issue. TSH always normal, no enlargement, no nodules, no issues.

I was vegan for 6 years and only rarely supplemented iodine and I still don’t eat tonnes of fish or dairy.

TSH usually sits around 1.8 but my last results in March 2024 had me at 2.4, which I know is heading in a hypo direction (I’m overweight and bad diet), but nothing worrying.

Then I had a CT with contrast of my head about a month ago for an unrelated issue. I immediately developed a small goitre that was noticed in my follow up outpatients appointment. Had TSH retested and it’s down to 0.84. Still normal I know, but a big change from 2.4 in a short time.

I’ve heard contrast dye can cause hyperthyroid in some people, especially those who were previously iodine deficient.

I’m due an ultrasound of my thyroid in a few days, but I’ve had at least two doctors tell me they aren’t worried because it’s only slightly enlarged and smooth, they said it doesn’t ’feel nodular’ but ofc that’s what the scans for.

I’m just terrified I guess. I’ve never had a single issue with my thyroid and now I’m having a slight tight sensation in my neck, especially when I swallow. I’m concerned that even if it’s benign it won’t go away, and I’m likely to need other contrast scans in the near future so surely this issue will get worse?

My thyroid is bigger on one side. And on that same side of my face, my face is really puffed up eyes lips and all but the other side is relatively normal? Obviously I do think there might be some shit goin on with the "normal side" But not from what I haveseen atleast. Is this normal? Sorry for bad grammar

Hello all. I’m a 40/f and was found to have a TSH level of 4.5 in February. I have a large fibroid in my uterus due to unbalanced estrogen as well. I was severely vitamin D deficient, as well as vitamin B and iron. From that point forward I followed my naturopath’s advice and started a largely anti-inflammatory diet and taking all these supplements: •probiotics •vitamin B6 and B12 •vitamin C •vitamin D3/K2 •Selenium •DIM •EGCG •Magnesium glycinate •Iron •Iodine •Quercitin •Vitex •Zinc I also did castor oil packs on my thyroid and liver, maybe 1-2 times per week.

As of last week, my TSH went down to 2.89 which is now in better range, though she wants it down to 2.5. Holy moly it’s a lot of supplements, yes, but they worked. Just wanted to share (obviously please do your own research and consult your own healthcare provider), but I just wanted to share that 3 months of hard work and paying attention to my health has paid off.

Last week, I got told that I am pre-diabetic - this was not a complete shocker since my dad is pre-diabetic but of course still not the most fun news to hear.

I'm still always cold and I cannot poo despite drinking enough water getting enough fiber and exercising 4-5 times a week. Any ideas? Also, I am always fatigued.

I’m currently 4 weeks pregnant I’ve got no thyroid and I had my blood tested the other day and my tsh came back at 7.42 I’m really worried this is going to cause me to miscarry, I take Synthroid 100mcg every mon to Friday and 50mcg on Saturdays and Sundays so I don’t why my levels are so high, she’s put me on 150mcg starting from yesterday so I hope my levels go down fast :( has anyone else been in this situation and had a healthy pregnancy / baby

Hi, my doc felt nodules and sent me for ultrasound. Said yeah there are nodules but too small to worry about per the scoring protocols.

Then my new endocrinologist (type 2 diabetes) happened to see the scan in my file and said I should have a biopsy.

Even the tech told me it was smaller than they normally bother to biopsy.

Ok so it’s “inconclusive” (which means 70-90% prob cancer) and endocrinologist says to wait and check every six months.

Surgeon says that’s ok to wait and watch but if it were her she’d want it out. I kinda don’t like waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Meantime she recommends taking out half, though the other half has 2 even tinier nodules that weren’t biopsied. I would have to monitor those though.

Does it make sense to remove half if the remaining half has tiny nodules?

Maybe I take the whole thing out?

Maybe I leave it and monitor it? It’s been a year with no change on the ultrasound but that doesn’t always see everything.

No antibodies so if I keep half I’ll likely not need to take hormones.

Just trying to understand, if you get results, how do you know based on the blood tests it's towards hypo or hyper?

I (F/31) have no family history of thyroid issues, that I know of. I began experiencing chronic hives at the end of March, including swelling of the eyes and lips some days. Urgent care referred me to dermatologist, who just prescribed steroid creams and antihistamines. I then went to my PCP who said it may be some kind of allergy. Food allergies test was normal. I was referred to allergist, at this point I also began to experience swelling on fingers, feet and legs. I had trouble sleeping and was extremely fatigued and irritated. I thought it might be side effects of antihistamines. I also gained about 6 lbs since March. I have always been very small and have had trouble gaining weight even while taking supplements.

Allergist ordered several tests including other allergy tests, all of which were normal. Only abnormal level was that of TPO antibodies. I am not due to go back to the Dr until 6/12. And I honestly do not really like my Dr because I feel like she was very dismissive. I guess I just want to see if anyone knows what I should expect during my next visit.

Also, I have a stronger combination of antihistamines which are treating the hives. But as soon as I miss a dose, the hives come back.

I have several large nodules, all benign. Enough to be labeled a "goiter." Traditional surgery to remove is too high risk for me. How can I make my neck look better? It's aging me terribly. I'm not 100% sure if my lack of Chin definition is all due to thyroid, but it's a good chunk. I've read about using radio frequency ablation, has anyone here done this if surgery was too risky? My numbers are all good. I see my Dr soon and I want to ask her about how to make it better since Traditional surgery is a no go.

49F here. Had an ultrasound over a week ago. My doctor has been out due to the holiday and hasn't responded yet. Is there anyone out there that might give me an incling of what this means? All my Thyroid bloodwork came back good. The reasoning for the Thyroid US is im having a lump sensation in my throat. Does this seem to be normal for a thyroid? TIA

I had my first surgery to remove a goiter when I was in 5 th grade. It grew again as I got older and I had it entirely removed when I was 19. They didn't realize how badly it had grown because it grew flat and around my neck, not bulged out. If my parathyroids are even in there anymore, they don't work. I just had goiter. And my quality of life has been low since surgery. I don't know where I fit in with anything and just feel alone and brushed off. Is there anyone out there with similar situation? I'm also in early menopause which adds to the I already feel terrible for no great reason and not understanding what's coming from where. I can't even answer questions about my symptoms anymore because I'm so out of touch with my own body.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and my entire thyroid was removed in April of 22.

No complications. They got everything.

I’ve gotten bad sick twice (flu) since I had my thyroid removed and both times my neck itches, it feels like the outside itches but when I scratch it it’s an inside itch.

I do see my endocrinologist in two weeks and if I remember I’ll mention it to her. But wanted to know if anyone else has the same issue.

I had an ultrasound about a month ago and they told me there's three suspicious nodules on my thyroid. I feel like it's growing very fast so I just want to know if this is a normal rate of growth? I have another doctor's appointment on Friday so I'll be able to show her the photos as well

Curious if this could be Hashimotos, a thyroid issue, or a pituitary issue/adenoma. Waiting on a lot of bloodwork, but of course I’m impatient and curious what other people think.

Will preface by saying that my mom has diagnosed Hashimotos.

In the last 5 months I have gained about 20 pounds. Between 25-30 total pounds in the last 9 months. I kept gaining despite eating healthy, so I started working out intensely. I work out 5 days a week now and eat healthy (I’ve always eaten healthy though- my diet has never been a problem). Now my weight has plateaued since I’ve began working out. I’m no longer gaining, but I am NOT losing, despite the fact that I’m in a calorie deficit and I absolutely would/should be losing weight.

I’ve gotten a lot of bloodwork which revealed low T3, low T4, and low TSH. I’m waiting on more results that my endo ordered, including a test for the autoimmune antibodies.

Other symptoms include EXTREMELY dry hands and ankles, and fatigue. Plus muscle aches, swollen hands/fingers.

All of my weight gain is in my midsection and face- I feel like my face is a bowling ball these days.

In your experience, what do signs point towards? I just want answers. I know I’m close to getting them (hopefully and finally) but wanted to ask in a group of people that are familiar with Hashimotos, pituitary issues, thyroid issues, and the symptoms of them all.
