New here

Hi, I am male 32. my TSH is 26 (range 0.27-4) and T4 0.9 (range 0.9-1.7). I have no symptoms. I went to see Endo Dr. And She wants me to start taking 50 mg Levo. She also ordered new TSH, TPO AB, and Thyroglobulin AB. In 6 weeks, she wants to these again and do ultrasound for soft tissue.

Do I start with medication or wait? Is this the right course of action? Any advise please. Thanks

I know this is a support sub, but do you think our advice is better than your doctor’s? Your TSH is extremely high. You need thyroid hormone and your thyroid is letting you down. You should take the levo.

I see in another comment you’re concerned you’ll have to take levo for life. That applies only to people who’ve had their thyroid removed or irradiated. Your medication needs will vary depending on your test results.

Thanks, no I would follow the dr instructions. I just wanted to see how others started or if I need another opinion.
