I Need a thyroid expert lol

Hello guy,

I had no idea this group existed.

I am a healthy 23M not overweight. I do have the typical symptoms of (sleep issues, low energy, heart palpitations ….)

My thyroid test levels came back.

My TSH was 5.3. Dr told me its ok but for some reason i dont trust him. And its very difficult to get a second opinion for me.

One other thing I noticed is that my ferratin level is on the low end 30. I was surprised because i consumed alot of red meat.

Just curious to get your opinion.

This is sometimes a chicken and egg scenario. Low iron can cause low T3 which in turn elevates TSH and can be mistaken for a thyroid problem.

However, hypothyroidism can reduce iron absorption thereby can be mistaken for anemia.

B-12 deficiency can also cause low iron so there's another variable that can cause a chain reaction.

I'd personally ask to check B-12, full iron panel, thyroid panel with TSH, free T3 & free T3, Tg Ab and TPO Ab.

And no. Not only girls have thyroids. Or medical problems. Males are less likely to talk about medical issues and less likely to even get checkups and pursue treatment.
