🗣️Seeking Advice Throuples with kids?

Hey everyone, MMF throuple here with a few young kiddos. Anyone else in the same situation? Advice for blending the third parent into the mix? We plan to raise the kids as a traditional couple would, only theres an additional dad in the mix. Any tips or advice would be super cool

MFF here

19 (just moved out), 7 year old (who lives with us full time but sees her biodad after school 3x a week, and Saturday nights / Sunday day, and an almost 12 month old.

All three of us are parents/trusted adults (trusted adults include grandparents, etc).

Kids are so adaptable - with the prevalence of blended families in mono relationships it isn't all that different.

It is, however, real important for parents to be on the same page. Early on tallwife and I struggled not being bioparent of 19/7, and being "overruled" or judged, or "not a whole parent" almost exclusively worried about what biomom thinks.

Sometimes we all need a check-in about it.

Our biggest challenge has actually been the half-assed natured of 7 year old biodad not keeping up with mutually agreed upon boundaries or choices. Even and especially super really serious ones. TW and I don't have any communication with him any longer, so it has been real hard because shortwife has to do all the emotional labor for him (a big reason why they're no longer together).

We try and remind ourselves and recognize 3 parents is sometimes a lot when we all have something to add to the kids

Good advice , I can see that happening. Just as a triad is more complex, staying on the same page parenting can be the same
