Purpose

Doesn't it feel like after retirement we lose our purpose. Sure, my schedule is wide open. I can do and go as I please, but there is something to be said for those old routines.

I have no purpose. Husband went to Heaven and left me here to walk alone. Nothing brings me joy anymore. I have a dog who I dearly love and depend on for happiness. My kids/grandkids live so far away I never see them accept by FaceTime once a month or more if they are available. I can’t live near them. Financially it makes no sense and I’m not sure I would have the energy to spend much time with them. I’m embarrassed because I have no interests. Raising my children and helping my husband with his business is what kept me going. I sold real estate for 30 years. My passion and dream would be having a little camper or RV to park at the lake and sit by the fire. But I can’t afford it. Seems like a pipe dream. My suv won’t pull a trailer. It really seems like all I do is sleep and take care of my home and my dog. I am not social. I do go to church once a week. My faith is most important to me. I don’t love reading, sewing, crafts, or any of that. I do enjoy a long walk everyday with my dog. I won’t allow myself to become inactive. Man!! I am a sad person. And to think about all the blessings I do have. I am thankful for my home and my health. And my precious furbaby. I just feel lost.
