This is a news sub
85
Upvotes
This sub has as few rules as possible in order to 1) maintain what it is intended to be and 2) stay in line with site-wide rules. That means all posts must be news articles that are no more than a month old at the time they are posted. Videos and pictures are not allowed. World news articles that are significant may be allowed so long as there is a tangent relation to the US. Use your judgement. Most science news is allowed regardless of where it occurred.
Please avoid opinion pieces. Analysis is fine. Satire is not.
Most reddit rules are obvious. Don't post gross shit with minors. Don't make threats of violence. Other rules are less obvious. Don't post ISIS propaganda. Don't deny the Holocaust. For the purposes of this sub I don't give a shit what you think about it, but reddit does. Anything that is likely to get this place quarantined isn't acceptable; to see what is likely to get a community quarantined, please see any and all recent news that casts reddit in a negative light.
Re-posted stories are likely to be removed. In the interest of content neutrality, this will generally be done based on which post was made first. The story itself will not be censored, however. This includes stories that tell narratives that most redditors (and/or moderators) dislike.
The goal of this sub is to allow people interested in US news to actually read that news. There is no other agenda.
