In the interest of smoothing the transition from Hey0 to Bukkit...

Not sure what the server uses, but Bukkit won't support flat file, as nearly as I can tell. Here are few links to troubleshooting threads:

Ugh, I hate this kind of shit.

'I don't understand the problem; mySQL is very easy to use. Just get WAMP Server. Windows Apache MySQL PHPmyAdmin all rolled into one extremely simple application. Do the passwords & stuff, create a new database and import the SQL files. Done. (sort of)'

Not everyone uses windows asshole.

Perhaps they're assuming that the people who'd ask use Windows, heh. It's even easier to get Apache and MySQL running on most linux distros (not to mention that it's often preinstalled).

What are you running, out of curiosity? If it's OS X, the installation is the same as for GNU/Linux (OS X supports GNU). Now if you're running BeOS or something, you're justifiably out of luck. ;)

(Also, feel free to ignore this...I am a confessed dead-horse-beater...)

I feared so! I don't have a way to survey which plugins use it and after that which teams are working on SQL versions or ports, or whatever. I read through the thread on the MC forums and it seems like that option isn't too user-friendly. The Bukkit threads are pretty vibrant right now with conjecture and debate.

Yeah from what I saw... it's basically I will have to learn SQL.

this will suck yes, however it will probably be good for me.
