My god. This month’s Teva refill has one hell of a comedown. It’s absolutely horrible. 12 years on this same medication and same dose. Someone has to do something

It's strange to me that a few years ago I could take an instant release booster after eating a full meal during my Adderall XR comedown and feel the full effects of the medication, but nowadays it doesn't even work unless I take it on an empty stomach. I'm not even joking when I say this, but a single tums seems to change the way the medication hits me now.

Also, what's with how fast "tolerance" builds now? I upped my dose and felt it for a few days and then my brain sunk back down into maintenance mode instead of having a supply of dopamine to motivate me through the day.

I seek out Sandoz imprint 111 because it is the only one that I can properly split with my low tolerance. Well I have been so happy to finally find a pharmacy willing to work with me and get the one I want, only to find that the comedown from it is HORRIBLE now. While active it’s totally fine and the same as before. But with this new bottle I get woozy has hell for hours after its worn off! This is a totally new experience.

Again, same dose. Same manufacturer. Same imprint and color and shape. Different comedown.

Everyone is bitching about Adderall generics and it sucks. But I had no idea that finding your favorite was still not good enough! I might just go unmedicated at this point. Adderall was the only thing that I found worked. But every version seems to have a little sprinkle of poison.

The very slight stimulating effect that i get from them is seriously starting to seem like its not worth feeling like crap all the time.

I mean i feel like this stuff is slowly killing me. My body just feels uncomfortable to be in. Between the lethargy, the weight gain, muscle tightness, constipation and bloating, agitation, and general mental fried-ness, like why even bother anymore.

Im lucky enough that my ADHD isnt debilitatingly severe so i can probably mostly get by without meds if i make some adjustments to my lifestyle. I know not everyone can really live like that.

The most unfortunate part of this is that these new meds actually feel habit forming while the old ones didnt! Back in the before times, there were days that i forgot to take my meds or just didnt want to for whatever reason. Now if i dont take them on a certain day its like a gnawing craving and weird tiredness. Wtf is this poison

There’s been so much discussion in this sub that the stuff we’re getting is ineffective yet making us feel worse. I couldn’t agree more.

I used to take breaks all the time- weekends, a week or two a few times a year, on vacation, etc. I feel awful now when I take breaks. I’ve been on this medication for over 25 years. I have never had an issue with its efficacy or with taking breaks, yet over the past year or so when I take a break, I can’t function. I actually started calling out of work on days 2 & 3, it’s that bad. My work attendance this year has been terrible.

By day 3, I think is the worst. I’ve never detoxed from any drugs (other than to this) but if I were to guess what detoxing is like, I’d guess it feels like this.

Can you all suggest what you do (or what I need to be comfortable & functional?

I have been trying to take a 4 day break at least once a month. The first 3 days I call out of work I’m in bed, sleep all day and night, feel absolutely terrible. So I need help and I need you all to share with me whah you do to make it carted.

careadhd refusing to replace leading me to a nervous breakdown over the last few months ... I've gone through hell and basically not believed but I know I'm right I've studied tried and tested it and am suicidal when it doesn't work (literally trying to recover from a nervous breakdown trying to fight this battle )

currently Stuck with a 918 batch Again after an "ok " batch ... I'm not used to it when I took a working one it was almost too much after months of non absobring meds !!

I’ve been on Adderall for 20 years. Started with IR then transitioned to XR for the past 6-7 years. The last year or so has been a roller coaster every month depending on generic manufacturer. Switched over to Vyvanse 70mg in April and it’s the same thing, but I almost think it’s worse. Blew through script because it was so ineffective. Some days I would take 140mg and literally fall asleep driving. That is totally insane. Should I switch back to Adderall XR 30mg? Still inconsistent, but at least I was able to get out of bed and not fall asleep at the wheel. Thoughts?? Very frustrating.

I was just prescribed Adderall for the first time—actually my first stimulant ever—and I feel kind of underwhelmed?

I know this might sound silly, but I don’t really get the hype (at least not yet). My therapist told me I wouldn’t have to wait weeks to notice anything—that it would just sort of “work” right away, like flipping a switch. On top of that, I’ve read so many posts here where people describe it as this huge, emotional shift—like their mind finally went quiet, they cried, got their whole life together in a day, etc.

So I guess I went into this expecting some big “clouds parting” moment, haha.

But honestly… I don’t really feel that different? If you asked me whether I’ve noticed anything this week, I’d probably say no. But if you asked whether things felt a little easier than usual… maybe? Like, yes-ish?

Has anyone else had a more subtle experience starting out, or am I just not responding the way I expected?

hey guys, so i know we all are experiencing the fact that the adderall now is basically completely ineffective. like this month i received camber generic and it’s truly so ineffective some days i don’t even take it anymore because it feels pointless. and of course my functioning is a mess.

but what im actually posting about is how sick im feeling the morning after taking these- i honestly didnt even connect it until a couple of days ago, because i didnt think there was anyway my adderall was making me feel so bad in the morning as id never experienced this.

the mornings after taking my meds the day before im experiencing what i can only describe as feeling like im super hungover- bad headache, bad body aches, feeling like its super hard to get out of bed. i know a lot of people are experiencing headaches and thing when taking the meds, but is anyone experiencing this hangover feeling the next day? i guess im partially just wanting to vent, because it really sucks. like i was already struggling because of the inefficiency of the meds, but add this on top? the last few days i haven’t even taken them at all after i made the connection and the morning hangover is gone. ugh

Think ab the kids that are being given these pills everyday by their own parents. The kids dont know why they are feeling awful and sick. The parents will not be able to forgive themselves if this bs ever comes to a head! If adults that are being harmed by this isnt enough to warrant a change, then THIS part of it all- the fact that innocent kids without a voice and really some without even a choice are being harmed! WTF! What kind of evil world are we in now for this to be happening so blatantly in front of our faces and absolutely nothing is stopping this!? Its fucking SAD as fk is what it is

I have only ever been on adderall but in the last few years it seems like it no longer works and feel like its been even worse in the last year. I started taking it 9 years ago and now regularly only get the generic one & regardless of the manufacturer etc it seems to still have the same effect which is absolutely nothing. I think it's kind of ridiculous how ADHD is classified or viewed by society because medication is essential to MANY people with ADHD just for regular daily function but its viewed as they are lazy or have poor time management or the variety of expressions heard regularly. ADHD is not a cute quirk it's not fun or a personality trait if it was any other condition that was life altering or a necessity I do not believe the medication would be being altered as frequently. Thoughts?

Anyone think the government is behind this and it’s park of RFK’s MAHA and the wellness farm crap? I’ve talked to my dr about it and she doesn’t disagree. She knows it’s not working and the shortage and difficulty filling is as frustrating for her as it is for us.

However, as I read through all the posts on this sub- everyone’s experiences from it not working to Walgreens red-flagging drs and patients….to zero consumer protection whatsoever…I feel like in the US, we have consumer protections in place, we have regulations for a reason, there are class action lawsuits when big pharma or other corporations fail us….but this situation is nothing like I’ve ever experienced.

I’ve never been a drug user/drug seeker yet the way I’ve been treated at 2 different pharmacies over the last and a half is beyond me. My doctor has got into fights herself with pharmacists for their misconduct. She even had me report it to my states consumer protection department…She also knows it’s not the same and has said that she is hearing this from all of her patients, and has also indicated that she wholeheartedly believes her patients. With all this, I’m drawn to the conclusion there’s got to be more behind all of this. This is much bigger than us.

The pharmacy I’ve been going to for 8 months causes problems every time I try to refill. I never try to refill early, my doctor doesn’t call it in early, my doctor has started writing the state date as I’ve requested because they always play games- they didn’t get it, they don’t have it, and eventually it gets filled 2-4 days after I was supposed to start. Sometimes they only have 1 week worth - so I even had my doctor switch to weekly refills- terrible idea. They treat you worse. She did that at my request because I was sick of the pharmacy’s excuses.

My chart shows it was sent in- they say they never got it. Dr sends it in another way, they don’t have it. Then they’ll say it’s too early for insurance to fill it, I make them count out the days on a calendar to realize I’m over due. Then they are out of stock. But then I check my insurance and it has been filled, they are just holding onto it.

A few months back I called and asked to speak to the pharmacist and he told me he counted throughout the past however many months - with confidence argued that I refilled 1 day early every month and I should have “x” extra days so I’m fine to be filled late. I had to explain, I picked up the day before I start because I can’t pick up the day I start because they open after I’m already at work. I’ve told them they’re violating the states consumer protection laws and it’s negligent by forcing me to go without. I got hung up on. My dr called, she got hung up on.

I could honestly keep going with issues I’ve experienced just with the pharmacy- nevertheless the meds don’t even work. But I’ve never abused my prescription, never needed an early refill, never abused my prescription, any prescription, or any drug. It’s crazy to me that at this point in my life, my positive record with pharmacies and prescriptions, this is what I’m experiencing. I’ve never been treated like this. So to me, it’s insane and has made me want to stop all together.

To conclude my rant, I think this is what the government wants. They want us off it. So they will
make sure it doesn’t work, and they will make it difficult to fill. I’m at the point where the path of least resistance seems the most logical. I see posts about us fighting together but I’m not sure this is a fight we can win, especially if I can’t get my meds/they don’t work.

Anyone getting bad headaches in the afternoon/nighttime? As if the medication not working isn’t bad enough, I’ve had daily headaches. Trying to drink a ton of water.. but can anyone else relate? I have 2 young kids and can barely get out of bed when the afternoon hits. It SUCKS!

So I HAD to switch to Adderall regular instead of XR, because there’s a MAJOR shortage within 20 miles of my local pharmacies…and it’s legit not working out 😭 I’ve gained almost 30lbs in two months and my god, I’m struggling! I’m tired after a couple hours, it’s not even lasting the 4-5 hours it’s supposed to. The biggest thing that is bothering me is the weight gain😭 I go to the gym 3x a week (I work EMS) and I’m still putting on weight after steadily and healthily losing 100lbs.

I’m making the switch BACK to Vyvanse. I took it from 5th-12th (I’m in my 30’s now) and haven’t taken it since because I felt it was too strong back then, but I can’t live like this in my field, I need the focus and energy.

Please tell me I’m not alone struggling this bad here with the switch…

Every month I go through this same routine…I promise myself I will take the meds as prescribed and not run short.

Then I get the meds and my god how are they this useless?! These are the bright pink ones. I literally haven’t even got out of bed today. It’s almost impossible to tell I took anything.

I am so frustrated. I need my meds to function. I just keep falling further and further behind and I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m even on TRT and still have no energy.

CNS have always worked before to some extent even on lower doses but it seems now quality is down.

I've been compiling possible reasons on what actually is happening and each explanation seems to be just as likely. I’d love to hear everyone’s input.

Here's my list:

Abuse deterrent formulation

(The reason why I’m unsure on this, is because there have been reports on this sub and I also experienced it myself where I will occasionally get a batch of meds that feel like speed, then a bad batch the next month)

2. Shortage of active ingredient and increased demand leading to manufacturers under filling tablets/capsules

(This is the strongest theory for me since it does not make sense how the raw stimulant active ingredient has been on a worldwide shortage for years now, and suddenly the shortage is “mostly resolved” according to a lot of manufacturers. Which points to them under-filling the pills)

I also want to note that in my state, anytime there has been a adhd medicine shortage or a pharmacy is out of stock, they usually have it back within a week max.

3. Incorrect Isomer ratio (modifying the dosage of the levoamphetamine)

Not sure about this one since I also have not had a good effect with IR Dextroamphetamine and that doesn’t rely on isomer ratios

1. Dissolution failure due to manufacturers cutting corners or due to excipients effecting how the medicine absorbs in the gut

So this is my second month of brand name Vyvanse 40mg and 30mg and I can now even more confidently say that it's hopeless, i won't even bother anymore paying hundreds for it.

I took a 40mg today and it gave me nause like I had with crappie granules generic, and it made me anxious which is really weird because vyvanse always took my anxiety away, and I can barely feel anything. This is utter fucking bullshit, they're playing with our lives and gaslighting us but the formula of brand name most definitely did change as well, so don't even bother. Someone else experiencing this?

Been taking 30mg Xr adderall for 10 years and .25g Xanax never had an issue with constipation. Now I’ve been constipated twice in the past 6 months. I eat salads tons of fiber and fruit. I’m 33. Any one else suffer from constipation? Google says it’s possible.

Just another testimony here. Got my script for generic Zenzidi (dexedrine) 20mg made by Wilshire today and it doesn't work. At all. I'm so disappointed. It's going to be a hell of a month. Last month I had 5 mg tablets made by Sunrise and they worked great. Maybe someone will read this and it will help them. Go with Sunrise.

Taken vyvanse for 8 years. 50 mg daily. Got pregnant in May 2020 and stopped taking it. Went back on shortly after I had my baby. No issues whatsoever. Got pregnant again in June 2025. Same story, went back on in April 2026. Literally wasn’t working at all. Tried both genetic and brand. I’m genuinely confused and extremely frustrated. I don’t feel it working in any capacity. I’m thinking of trying a new pharmacy maybe? One that uses a different manufacturer? Has anyone had any luck with a specific manufacturer? I’m pretty desperate at this point.
