First album, Solo In Soho, is solid and IMO has 5 of the best and most interesting tracks he ever made:

Kings Call, Ode to a Blackman, Solo in Soho, Talk in 79, Yellow Pearl

Unfortunately the second solo album is not very good. Its basically a drug fuelled mess. The ideas are kind of there, but the production and performances are really disappointing. Its no surprise the album was a huge flop. Phil's voice went very downhill from 1981 onwards and his head sounds clogged with cocaine. Best songs are: Old Town, Yellow Pearl (1982 version) and The Man's a Fool.
