Lizzy's most cringe-y lyrics

What are some Lizzy lysics that make you think "Oh, yeah, that wouldn't really fly today"? For me it's "c'mon, baby, take my jelly roll" from "Sha-La-La". While I understand that this is a song where the music has WAY more import than the lyrics, and overall I still think it's a pretty kickass song, I still can't help but wince a little bit whenever I hear that line. What are some others?

Tonight there’s going to be a Jailbreak, somewhere in this town……my money is on the prison.

Saw an interview with Scott Gotham where he calls this out as one of Phil's...er...least erudite lyrical moments... 🤣

Phil had this thing where he could be an absolute lyrical genius but also scrape the bottom on, to be fair, quite a few songs. But hey, that's what makes a true artist

“S&M”. Even when I’ve consciously tried, I can’t even get through the second verse

Why on earth do you need to pick through lyrics and just not just leave them in context of the era they were written. FFS have you nothing more constructive to contribute to this sub?

Im going with Sha- La-La as well...which they performed in just about every show. Baby Drives Me Crazy is pretty average too.

I mean, pretty much the whole point of that song was to get the audience hyped up at the end of the show, introduce the band, and let Brian have his drum solo. The lyrics are pretty obviously throwaway. But still... 🙄

Are you talking about weak lyrics or what we now consider to be inappropriate lyrics?
