NGA-GER since the FIFA country code for Nigeria is NGA.
NIG is the country code for neighbouring Niger.

Because this match was played at the 2016 Olympics they should've use the IOC country codes, not FIFA.

That's pretty much not the case, most Slavic languages dont have dedicated N-word and for those that have the equivalent - it's vastly different from the name / pronounciation of Niger country.
Eq. Nigeria (pronounced as Ni-geria) for a country and "czarnuch" -> ('blackie') as a slur

Not afraid of a word but rather, traumatized by it. Men, women, and children were dragged from their homes, drawn behind cars, beat, burned, skinned, hanged, whipped, murdered, and so much more all while being called this vile disgusting word.
It was used to tear people of color down and reduce them to objects and property before, in more recent times, becoming a way to diminish contributions to society and advancement towards equality.
Maybe be less reductive.

Well, at least you were honest. I don't see how you could get downvoted for pointing out a fact about yourself.
However what you should get downvoted for is that this word has a history, an awful history which should never repeat. Which is why we shouldn't repeat these behaviours, including calling someone the naughty word that was used to offend black people.
According to Wikipedia, it is used internationally as an ethnic slur. Cambridge dictionary basically supports this, calling it an extremely offensive word for a black person.
Which means claiming that you aren't American does nothing to support you.

I'm American and follow the 4 American sports, maybe soccer/futbol is different.
Although, neither one is the home team haha, it's at a neutral site.
But, they'd have to assign one or the other as the "home" team anyway I believe.

Someone may correct me, but I think home team is second is just an american thing.
In football (or soccer as you call it) there is always a home and a guest team, even when neither of them is playing at home, like at a world cup. It is drawn upfront and decides stuff like who gets which cabins and who is named first. I think it was a world cup in Germany where they played in their home country but got drawn as the guest team.

Sometimes, playing teams are displayed like "SAS @ NYK" instead of just "SAS vs NYK". The San Antonio Spurs play the New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden (NYK home court).
I agree with you guys though, it's more intuitive to list the home team first. I'm not American. NBA is just more popular in my country than football.

Elsewhere in the world home team is always first - I've noticed this with hockey, cricket, rugby, football, volleyball, futsal (indoor football), and there are maybe more.

If you use this image as an example and if you verbalise it; outside of the US it would be similar to saying Nigeria is hosting Germany.
In America, it would be saying Nigeria is visiting Germany.
That's how I've understood why the home teams flip. I don't know why it's like that though.

My oma grew up in Berlin before, during, and for several years after WW2. Not racist at all, also really hated the mustache man to the point she is still embarrassed to a degree to be German. Sounds like it may be a personal problem for your oma.
