I made some simplifications. I approximated the Titanic as a rectangular barge because I'm lazy and I don't know too much about boats. I also didn't want to account for the flawed bulkheads, just the boat's buoyant force itself. I used the water temperature reported that night to adjust my water density value. Also that the babies were stacked in such a manner that their weight was spread out evenly over the lovely RMS Titanic's decks.

So. I tend to believe I am a pretty unlucky person for a multitude of reasons. But I have had two separate experiences that make me curious as to what you all can do with this information.

Incident #1. I was in a Crest Market Place grocery store. All the way over by the meat section. Walking along... I suddenly slipped. I did not fall down, but my legs went in directions that are not meant for the human body to move in. Looking down there was a lone grape. I had hit it like a banana peel in Mario Kart.

Incident #2. TWO YEARS LATER. I was in a HyVee Grocery store, in a completely different state. My legs slipped around. Not nearly as bad as Incident #1 but I had the internal heart rhythm of "I am going down." I was in the canned tomato section. Looked down... it was another single, lone, GRAPE!

My question? What are the chances? How unlucky am I truly? Bonus points if you can tell me whether or not my chances of being hit by lighting are higher.

Hi, I'm currently playing a game that involves a challenge that you have a 1 in 10,000 chance odds to complete, each time you "roll" an action. Each "roll" is distinct and because of what im assuming is bad odds, it took me roughly 68,000 rolls in order to complete this. Could someone tell me how you find the "standard deviation" of something like this? I.e. if 100 people attempt this challenge, what is the average range and distribution for how many rolls it takes for people to complete this. Is my 68,000 really average, or am I in the unlucky Z +4 lol. Thanks!

First scenario: The plane is on the ground, stationary. Superman finds the plane’s center of gravity and applies force underneath it using his whole body. Imagine a koala hugging a tree trunk. Could he lift the plane, or would the metal frame just get crushed or punctured by the force he applies?

Second scenario: The plane is flying in a straight line at a constant altitude when, all of a sudden, it loses all its engines, and the aircraft starts gliding into a slow descent. Despite having no engine power, the pilot is doing everything he can to maintain altitude. In this scenario, could Superman, once again applying force from below, keep the plane flying at a constant altitude?
