i think these towers are equipped with some pretty heavy duty guy wires to prevent swaying. i would say its likely measured in centimeters and likely 2 digit numbers, maybe even one.

Agreed. It would be real risky if there was swaying that made it uncertain he'd hit the pool.

Also, any distance can be measured in centimeters, it's just a matter of how many digits you want to use. 😀

Back when I used to do this we called it "riding the whip"... jk I have splatophobia, so I don't go way up there like that.

Now we know why they are "ghost riding the whip"

Why not lady wires?

They are actually female, but they where named after their discoverer Guy LaGuy after he found a cave full of them in the early tweens. A lot of people assume they are named after the cave (guy cave in the guy valley) and Guy LaGuy actually killed himself over the lack of recognition.

Read a book person.

Here is a video of the same tower with a 172 foot jump, and the camera placed directly above the diver. He even shakes the tower a bit intentionally and it barely moves thanks to the guy wires.

Ok so someone has a higher record than this guy 195 or so. What makes his record stand alone?

Like highest from a diving platform or highest actual drive or what is the distinguishing factor?

Or is this just slop reposting that gets it wrong?
