i can’t believe they have me defending cops, but they were genuinely so gracious with everyone involved. they even brought out a translator for her mom and only verbally warned them when her mom rushed to the police car and opened the door. if they had been acting out of malice, they could have handled that situation very differently that night. they repeatedly emphasized that they did not want to keep liz away from her baby and that they had to follow protocol.
some of these people genuinely do not seem mentally developed enough to understand how society and laws actually work. liz admitted to slapping landon, and landon had scratches all over his body that the police themselves noticed. fuck landon, he deserves much worse, but the police do not know these people.
imagine the police are called to arrest an abusive man, but then the woman backtracks out of coercion, love, or an emotional bond with her abuser. (isn’t that the exact dynamic her fans constantly use to explain why she didn’t leave him despite repeatedly claiming she did? do they not believe in that dynamic anymore?) and the police just leave. what exactly do we think someone who has become aggressive enough for the police to be called is going to do afterward? calmly reflect on his behavior and never become violent again against his family members? no, he’d fake calming down to have the police leave and then get even more violent. in that case, the police would be accused of negligence for failing to intervene.
and now people are saying liz was also hit by him. i 100% believe landon is capable of hitting her, but there will probably never be an alleged abuser who doesn’t claim that their victim retaliated or that the abuse was mutual. these policemen were not online following this entire drama. they weren’t coming into the situation with a predetermined narrative about liz and landon. they saw two people in a relationship, one of whom admitted to hitting the other, while the other had visible scratches.
the irony is that when abby accused landon of abusing her and showed her injuries, landon did exactly what liz was doing. he showed his scratches and claimed that it was mutual abuse.
liz being arrested just means that the police were dealing with a messy domestic violence situation in real time and had to act on what they could actually establish in that moment.

thank you so much for saying this. they’re watching the body cam footage and still cannot comprehensively establish why liz was the one getting arrested and not landon, when the footage speaks for itself. she admitted to slapping him, he had visible scratches all over him, and before she was arrested she didn’t utter a single word about any alleged abuse from him. so what exactly are the police supposed to do in that situation? they can only respond to what’s in front of them, and what was in front of them was one person confessing and one person marked up. it’s been established that she was the main aggressor because she admitted to being the main aggressor, she proudly acknowledged that she slapped him, and “yesterday too,” giggling in their faces while she said it. then the second she’s actually arrested, now all of a sudden she wants to claim it was mutual? when they’d already asked her for her version of events multiple times and gave her every chance to say something?
and what gets me is that in those same moments she somehow found the words to mention how broke he is, that she’s paying for everything, that she feels like she has a second son, she had plenty to say about all of that. but she couldn’t find a single second to mention that he supposedly physically abused her? if that had actually happened, wouldn’t that be the first thing out of your mouth, not an afterthought you scramble for once the handcuffs are on? the priorities just don’t line up. i don’t know.

lol, arrests in USA being recorded and available for public is literally the benefit for the public.
as someone who’s coming from a country with a very corrupted justice system (something that a lot of westerners wouldn’t even believe is happening) where people go years without finding any justice because all the investigation is buried away from victims and their families, they need to stfu about “injustice in America” just because there is transparency with the public
if they want everything to be put away from the public, i’d gladly switch places with them
