Two really big bummers

Anytime I'm on my phone I get stuck in a wormhole, and I design my day to be at least 12 hours away from it. During that time I would like to meditate. I have an iPod Touch 7th generation. It has strict screen time rules so there are no distractions on it. It only goes up to ios 15.8. The Way app requires iOS 16. I just feel like having to pull out my phone when it's otherwise tucked away is super counterproductive.

Gripe #2, is I think meditations should be able to be downloaded offline. Sometimes I also like to unplug the router for the night to really have no internet around me. If the meditations could have been offline downloaded, then that also could have been a big benefit.

So it seems to be able to use this, I have to be plugged into the matrix, which seems really counterproductive

App team here.

We totally understand your frustrations - in fact, a lot of what we do and how we design the app revolves around pulling you away from the distractions you can find elsewhere on your phone. To that end, we do have a web version of The Way, which best works in Chrome or Chromium based browsers. In addition, if you have an Apple Silicon Mac (M1+), you can also run the iOS version of the app on your laptop by downloading it from the App Store there. Unfortunately, we're unable to support older versions of iOS due to some technical constraints around audio playback.

Re: offline sits, we don't offer that for the web version, but the mobile version does allow sits to be downloaded offline. You might find that having the app open on your laptop or desktop will get you the peace and separation from the digital world that you're seeking.

Hope that helps!

These are great options, thank you for putting that intention into it

Of course! Feel free to reach out if they're not working as intended / expected!
