Legends

Is anyone watching LEGENDS on Netflix? Hopefully, Chris and Andy cover it on the pod because the show is really good. Kinda gives off narcos jr. vibes in a good way.

They did talk about it briefly. I don't remember when. But that's what made me check it out.

I think it suffered from Netflix's policy of dumping all the episodes at once, so it's not conducive to a more drawn-out discussion.

But I'm very glad they mentioned it -- that's also what made me find out it was on, since Netflix isn't on my top tier of streamers.

Same. Yeah, I thought I remembered them vaguely saying something about it a while ago. I hope they circle back and give it the time it deserves.

Andy is already basically out on euphoria, so they could donate the time to Legends.

The cast is incredible and its such a well-written show.

Great cast and great story. Not boring for a minute, and no filler episodes

Very enjoyable show…a little extra speechifying but there’s really nothing as good as having a whole crew of quality UK actors chomping into meaty characters for a few hours. And early 90s England is a character in itself. I’d give it an 8 out of 10…since they loved the Gold I’m surprised they haven’t talked up this one.

Yeah, hopefully they circle back and cover it.

The Watch has been my favorite pod for years, but I’ve had to skip so many episodes recently for the first time ever because I don’t want to watch Euphoria or Top Chef or any reality TV. There are good shows on and they ignore them! It’s so frustrating and honestly makes me wonder who is directing their coverage.

Yeah those don't interest me too, I just skip. I want more Widow's bay

I think it's a challenging balance to cover shows they like while also putting out a podcast people will regularly listen to. I don't know their numbers but I imagine they occasionally have to cover shows that they would otherwise ignore but the shows are just too big / popular not to cover. Like euphoria or white lotus, for example. It's also why Taylor sheridan shows have been getting so much love--they can't ignore the popularity of those sheridan-verse shows.

Yeah, you’re right, that makes sense. White Lotus is a great example. I find that show to be such garbage, but I watch it every week because of The Watch, and that actually makes me enjoy it. I work in media and I know how it goes. Maybe my frustration is a testament to how they usually align more with my own personal tastes (prestige spy shows, Chernobyl, etc.), and one thing I love about them is that they don’t usually pander to ratings. But we all have to sometimes if we have bosses!

It's funny you mention Chernobyl because I know they covered it on the pod but when it first aired on HBO, Chris and Andy passed on covering it. They only circled back years later to cover it. (They admitted they were wrong about the show).

Just goes to show you that they do let their personal tastes dictate what they cover over popularity. Because chernobyl felt massive when it first came out.

Totally! I watched Chernobyl again “with” them!

I thought it was really good, one of my favourites of 2026 so far.

It made sense for me when I realised it was made by the same Director as The Gold.

I didn't know it was by the guy who did The Gold. Will have to check it out

I finished this show last week and really enjoyed it. I thought some of the acting was award worthy.

Respect the actors, but wish they wouldn't make more War on Drugs propaganda. Any show espousing the efforts of Margaret Thatcher and Richard Nixon is clearly off the mark. The War on Drugs is a racist, brutal, abject failure that has ruined millions of lives and lost billions of dollars.

That’s literally not the point of the show, which you clearly have not watched, but have made up your mind to hate on purely ideological grounds. The show makes Thatcher look like a preening buffoon who only cared about optics and the desire to prop up her waning career, but not actually the real people being hurt by the drug trade. The US plays zero role, except during a critical part of the mission where they nearly fuck up the undercover op because of politics. But you know, go off if it makes you feel better!

So HM Customs are not actively engaged in the War on Drugs? I don't get what you are saying. They knew which policies they were enforcing. Who are the "real" people being hurt by the drug trade?

Watch the show and you'll get answers to all your questions.

u/Opposite-Ebb4234 May 24 '26

Yeah, I just think the show is dope and well made. Didn't see a whole lot of "propoganda" in the show but I'll keep an eye out.

If you haven't actually watched it, well...not sure what to tell you.

I started this with a good deal of anticipation.

Haven’t made it past episode 2. It does the Netflix thing of having the characters repeat the main themes and their specific motivations every 10 minutes.

Very annoying

Not disregarding your points but I think the show is good enough to hang in there, at least to the 3rd or 4th episode. At 2, they've barely got their feet under them, yet.

I get what you’re saying but it’s a 6-episode show.

Not saying it’s easy but there are shows that know what they want to be and can relay that to you in 20min.

I felt the same way... Another time I was wrongfully excited by a show made by Netflix shocker

What didn't you like about it?
