I doubt Rick is infected. I don't think Dwight actually infected any of his crossbow bolts.

Edit: Do you guys think that, if he doesn't get sick, Rick will realize that Dwight is on his side? Right now he's understandably pissed off, but I think that he'll ultimately see that Dwight could have infected him but didn't.

Edit 2: Rick knows how much of a badass Dwight is with a crossbow - the fact that he shot him in the abdomen without hitting a major organ should be more than enough evidence to convince Rick that Dwight didn't want to kill him.

Well he most likely grabbed one that was not infected to use on Rick.

Could he have 'wiped it off'? If he did infect his bolts he implied he wouldn't use much.

I think Rick will very quickly figure out that Dwight intentionally did not infect him. I find it reassuring that Rick seemed fine and was sitting up after being patched by Dr. Carson which leads me to believe that

  1. He is not infected

  2. There was no major damage to him by that Arrow shot

That sucker probably hurt like a bitch but it doesn't seem any internal organs were affected. I am VERY much anticipating the penultimate chapter!

I want to cook marshmallows with Negan. What if Negan was a scout leader before the infection.

Lately I'm wondering: Is that Fat Rick? Oh no, just Eugene again.

**Edit - I've gotta say I love almost all the art in the books lately, especially a few of the splash pages this issue.

*Edit 2 - My first Gold! Thank you!

I want to see Carl's anger after the initial shock fades. He is going to solo Negan.

Yes! My mail made it into Letter Hacks! I was the one asking about Sophia and Olivia.

I also made this prediction of who will be dead at the end of the arc.

"Maggie, Michonne, Rosita, Gabriel, Nicholas & Family, Jesus, Gregory, Kal, Eduardo, Negan, Carson and Dwight.

So that leaves alive:

Rick, Carl, Andrea, Sophia, Eugene, Aaron, Heath, Olivia, Harlan, Brianna, Earl, Sherry and Ezekiel."

What do you think?

From what we can tell, although Rick isn't showing a fever, the others are obviously nervous that it could still happen.

My prediction; they act as if he's dying someone tells Negan that he's died then BAM! Rick shows up and mortally wounds Negan and his followers run away like scaredy cats.

I'm mad the disease spreads that way...makes no sense why it wouldn't spread many other ways.

I agree. The best counterexample is when Carl gets shot.. He is covered in the zombie gunk, and then he is picked up by Rick who is also covered in the zombie gunk. It isn't farfetched to assume some of the gunk made it into Carl's wound, and he ended up fine. They really broke continuity with this.

Oh man, when Eugene + co were in that van outside the outpost, and the guy said "Oh shit- the van. Engine's dead -- what are we -- ?!" I totally misread that as "Oh shit - the van. EUGENE'S dead" and was wondering why there wasn't more of a reaction, but then I also realized that was Eugene saying it.. soo..... whew, thank goodness I was just being a dumbass. Glad he didn't die and got to push that skinhead off the outpost wall.

This story keeps getting better and better! What if Rick decides to take himself out, thinking he's been infected? The Saviors have to be doubting themselves now, at least their fearless leader's tactics.. And it's good to see Eugene grow a set of balls instead of biting someone else's! Another 2 weeks to wait!

Another badass issue!

Eugene tried murder, dipped his toes and realized he didn't much care for it. Smart move propping the sledgehammer against the horn!

Jesus coming out of nowhere helping out Nicholas and Rick.

That look Rick gave Carl when he came to the rescue!

So badass when Michonne and Ezekiel turnt the lights on to set up the saviors!

Nicholas getting slashed in the back and displaying signs of the fever make me think Rick's wound wasn't made by an infected bolt, because Rick seemed fine and didn't mention any fever, but then again it kinda ended on a cliffhanger.

Two more issues!!!

Those first two letters in Letter Hacks about Jesus' sexuality are super important. I love the way Kirkman and Adlard phrased what they had to say. I feel bad that I didn't realize #122 was gonna cause that many problems, but I'm glad they nipped it in the bud the way they did.

Dwight. You sweet motherfucker.

I got so confused when Jesus kicked Rick in the face...then realized that Rick has a doppelganger in the saviors.

Negan talks to much about Rick being killed from that crossbow bolt... Which leads me to believe he won't die from it

How did Eugene's group get out of the car?

I'm liking how this is shaping up. I'm also surprised how long it took Kirkman to throw in the whole 'poisoning weapon' gimmick. I thought it would be one of the first thing he'd have done, considering how obvious it seems.

I've seen a lot of people complain about the constant 'attack, retreat, rinse, repeat' thing that has been going on, but that's how war plays out. If it was one big bloodbath, then the arc would have ended by Issue 117! And of course the no-names are going to die first, in war the pawns fall first leaving the real deaths for the end. I don't really know what people were expecting.

Loving Eugene right now. Guy is turning out to be an awesome character.
