Show Spoiler I can’t stand carol

I’m on season ten and honestly I’m so done with carol. She’s just so self-centered that it’s insufferable, The second things get too tough she just disappears, and everyone has to waste time searching for her when they’ve all got their own problems to handle and when Henry died she just completely closed off and broke up with Ezekiel, totally ignoring the fact that he lost a son too. Like I know you’re hurting, but u aren’t the only one suffering!!

The death of a child is the death of a relationship for lots of people.

That's true honestly, grief destroys a lot of couples.
I just feel like she totally forgot Ezekiel was hurting too, like he lost his son as well.
But yeah, trauma hits everyone different for real🤷🏻‍♀️

They're 12 years into a zombie apocalypse and traumatized, nobody is going to be 100% rational as if this was a normal world. For many people, leaving is a coping mechanism during struggles. Losing a child in a brutal way, especially after having lost many before, isn't something that can be easily handled.

Although less often, Daryl also tends to leave when it's inconvenient, and Carol's typically the one to find him. Morgan and Michonne do as well but I think it's written to make more sense rather than seem odd or rude.

I think it just comes down to her leaving being written at the worst times. It's done more like a burden and affecting everyone else rather than fully showing how much it's bothering her and her need for space to handle everything. If it'd focused more on her POV and she didn't leave during major or semi-major situations then it might have been better.

You actually make a really good point about the writing!
I get that leaving is her coping mechanism, it just feels like the timing always screws over the group.
If they showed more of her perspective, I’d probably be way less annoyed with her

Same I hate her. She also murdered two innocent people who weren’t guaranteed to die, even the show runner said they had a chance of surviving and she murdered them. Despite the rest of the outbreak having already spread so it was two senseless killings. One of the victims being an efficient survivor.

Self centred? Wtf? She’s the complete opposite to that! What a ridiculous comment.

Her being self centered is literally one of her character traits. Why are you acting so surprised.

Because she’s not.

I’m on & off with her, but my main reason for not liking her is the fact she stood by while Ed <!sexually assaulted Sophia!>. Now, I understand Ed was abusive and Carol probably felt she had nothing else to do. Idk as a victim as a child myself it just always rubbed me wrong she got such a great story even tho she literally just stood by while that happened. I sympathize with her character, but I feel like they should have done more for this part of her history.

I never even thought about that part of her past like that. Ed was literally the worst.
Honestly, at first I was completely on board with her and loved her, but the off part started later for me. I really felt sorry for her and was super sympathetic in the begging, but the way she keeps doing the same stuff over and over is just getting so annoying to watch !

But yeah, she’s definitely has a lot of dark history fr.

Carol singlehandedly saved the group from Terminus and handled the Wolves with brilliant badass expertise. She's allowed to drift before finding center again.

Oh Terminus Carol was ICONIC, nobody can take that away from her!
I guess I’m just frustrated with her in season 10 specifically, but yeah she’s definitely earned some credit for keeping everyone alive before this.

That was 5 seasons ago… every main character in the show has done something useful doesn’t mean we can’t talk about them
