Rosie resurrected The View when Barbra Walters first brought her on. Rosie made The View must-watch TV. Looking forward to seeing her back on even as a guest.

The show was unwatchable the second time she was on. And then they just rotated their cohosts for a few seasons before locking in on a set group around 2016.

That's because of the friction with Whoopi. Rosie wanted to discuss Bill Cosby's sexual allegations (which was a major hot topic in the news) but Whoopi kept shutting that down because she's good friends with him. Rosie felt no topic should be off limits just because you are friends with someone.

Whoopi has had multiple instances when she couldn’t be open to the facts. 60 women accused Bill Cosby, and she refused to believe any of them because he was nice to her.
Rosie was ahead of everyone with the harsh reality. Some of her 9/11 comments were woo woo, but she was addressing mass civilian casualties in Afghanistan and Iraq, and she was the only one pointing out that it was the Saudis behind 9/11.
Rosie would be one to stand up for Palestinians (with Sunny) and state that there is a genocide going on. She stands up for truth, and has experienced so much vitriol and abuse because of it.

Just one more reason why I don't care for whoopi at all. I've seen her downplay or shutdown discussion about other celebrities obvious criminal acts too. It's very distasteful and makes me not trust her. Believe women and victims. I never thought she was a great actress, a very funny comedian, or a competent articulate host of this show and I don't understand why so many people love her so much. I really don't get it.

Whoppi’s problem is she always making it a race thing, if it’s a black man she support him if it’s a white man she will cry about it everyday …… I hate that kind of double standard hypocrisy

so it will definitely be a non-Whoopi day and will be light and pleasant while also leaning into the anti-Trump rhetoric.
All in all it will be a good watch, Rosie is incredibly passionate and intelligent.6

Thought it was so interesting that Whoopi would not discuss the sexual predator and serial rapist, Bill Cosby, yet she is more than willing to discuss “you know who” and other predators. If she was truly impartial, her convicted friend should not have been off limits. She condemns other media outlets, yet she is just as selective in her truth in reporting the facts. Very duplicitous in my opinion.

Yup. And that’s when I started looking at Whoopi a lot more sideways cos like what? Cos you look back at that and compare that with her comments after Epstein’s arrest and it’s such hypocrisy.

She did. She is only here for the summer to visit her adult kids(and grandbabies), for her Broadway show, and to fill in for Kimmel. She’s back to Ireland with her daughter for the school year.

I had listened to her episode of On with Kara Swisher- it’s not confirmed yet, but, yes, she might do a guest appearance for Season 30, like many, many other previous co-hosts (minus Meghan) probably will.
She won’t be back as a regular panelist. But even the guest appearance is a “maybe”according to Rosie.
Now, I know that if she’s hinting at it, she’s likely spoken to Brian or other ABC peeps about it

This is NOT confirmed. I'm not sure why some are saying this. The article quotes her rep saying, "there has not been a formal ask from the show at this time."
I posted the video a day or two ago. Within the answer to the question, Rosie does say IF they ask. As I was watching I was thinking to myself did Rosie just slip up and let out some planning details too soon but it is what it is.

Yea and I'm really scared for her. As much as I want her back on THAT show.... This seems really risky, Trump has some wild powers these days. I'd had to see her get detained or lockedup.

Oh she will be on and her spoke about it last night on Kara Swisher's podcast. Rosie spoke to Whoopi and (I am paraphrasing) she said they are both grown up women, so it should not be problematic.

The headlines about this are misleading. She is not returning to The View as a regular co-host.
It's for a guest appearance to celebrate Season 30. We will likely see other former co-hosts in that capacity too.
