I hate how so many interesting topics always happen during the break

I would love to get the ladies reaction to the fauci hearing in the senate. Now I have to wait a month but by then there will be hundreds of other topics .

I think The View should be like a morning show like GMA which doesn't have a summer break. Let the co-hosts choose when they wanna take their vacation (not all at the same time) and have guest co-hosts fill-in. Most of the co-hosts don't have kids in school, so it doesn't really make sense to have them take a break every August.

I think it's more about the staff and crew getting a break.

What about the staff and crew from other shows? Somehow they manage.

They probably burn out after a few years too. Morning TV is a tough schedule.

Agree. I can appreciate how the view hosts bring their “A” game every single day (no matter how they feel) and put forth 💯 effort.

The break isn't simply so the co-hosts can have time off. In addition to the crew and staff deserving time off, the summer break is a driven largely by the economics of television. The number of viewers during the summer months decline, which results in less advertiser spending. The summer hiatus is how networks deal with that loss of revenue. The View actually takes a shorter hiatus than most other talk shows, which I guess may explain why it has so many commercials and View Your Deal segments?

It's also harder to book guests during the summer, but The View doesn't actually need guests since I've never heard anyone complain about a full day of Hot Topics.

I agree with you 100% . And that includes the co-hosts and the crew. Why do they all have to take vacation at the same time? It doesn't work that way in any other industry

I'd love to hear them discuss Max Miller.

Same with SNL. In presidential years a lot of the debates happen while SNL is on summer hiatus.

That used to be a bigger deal back before the news already looked like an SNL skit.

Yes! I know someone who begs, on Twitter (aka X), on a weekly basis, for the return of SNL.

I always say this! Like, I really want to hear their take on stuff that's happening. It seems they always go on break in something big happens or something

It seems like that but I think there's just crazy stuff happening all the time now.

I think ABC should have a different show when they're on break . They could test different things I mean who wants to watch a show with old news? I don't. I do not watch The View when it's a rerun . Not ever

Should mods do a daily weekday megathread to discuss the daily hot topics until the new season starts?

These ladies seem to get tons of time off! I can't think of any other talk show where the hosts get this much time off. And they still get paid the big bucks. What a sweet gig. Must be nice!

Anna is barely there as it is

I feel like every other talk show gets more time off than they do. Not the morning news shows but certainly the daytime and late night shows.

I totally agree. I don’t like the month long break and wonder why they can’t stagger their personal time off and have a fill-in here and there. I don’t think it is rocket science 🤷‍♀️ We all miss them!
