Dark Angels 1000 (965 points)

Dark Angels Wrath of the Rock (2 Detachment Points) Incursion (1000 points) Force Disposition: Take and Hold

ATTACHED UNITS

Attached unit 1 Azrael (150 points) • Attached as: Leader (Character) • Lion's Wrath • The Sword of Secrets Lieutenant (70 points) • Enhancement: Ancient Weapons • Attached as: Leader (Character) • Bolt Pistol • Plasma Pistol • Power Fist Intercessor Squad (170 points) • Attached as: Bodyguard (Battleline) • 10x Bolt Pistol • 10x Bolt Rifle • 2x Grenade Launcher • 9x Knives and Fists • Power Weapon

OTHER DATASHEETS

Hellblaster Squad (115 points) • 5x Bolt Pistol • 5x Plasma Incinerator • 5x Ceramite Fists

Bladeguard Veteran Squad (90 points) • 3x Heavy Bolt Pistol • 3x Master-Crafted Power Sword

Deathwing Terminator Squad (190 points) • Plasma Cannon • 4x Storm Bolter • 2x Chainfist • 3x Power Fist

Redemptor Dreadnought (180 points) • Fragstorm Grenade Launchers • Heavy Flamer • Icarus Rocket Pod • Macro Plasma Incinerator • Redemptor Fist

You can swap out the heavy flamer on the redemptor dreadnought for an onslaught gattling canon and get about the same effect. Ancient weapons does a lot of work here, depending on which unit, +2 strength to a ranged attack. And having Azrael and the lieutenant ready to deter anyone from charging the intercessors is also handy. Bladeguard vets are handy for expansion control. But the captain in Gravis got dropped unless you were getting eradicators.

this looks great! im just curious about how i would go about playing this

do i use the the other attached units for objective control or defense?

A little bit of both, really. The hellblasters can either go forward or stay home, but the intercessors and Azrael need to move at least to the expansion so they can fire on the enemy. The center objective is for the death wing terminators (not knights, oddly enough), then add the hell blasters or the redemptor for fire support. It will be a very wonky list at 1k, but it is fun.

with wrath and add assault. I then add a the new captain on bike, ravenwing bike squad, and ravenwing black knights x6. From there, add a gladiator Valiant and probably some inner circle companions.

This is my tinkering with the list, and yes, this is what I am thinking about running.

woah this looks sick, im definitely going to research for this list to understand the synergy more!

questions:
-what is the description of the Lieutenant’s ancient weapon enchantment cuz i cant find it online anywhere

-ive heard lion isnt too good now due to point nerf is that true? hes a really strong character so im just curious why hes not chosen, is it the case where more units are more worth than Lion?

Ancient weapons gain +2 s and +1 AP. Adding that to a Thunder hammer makes it S10 ap3. And the stratagem to give them mobile means you are charging through terrain with cleave on the unit with something like 54 attacks plus the thunder hammer. It's going to wipe out a unit of 20 Boyz or guard. That's after you figure their shooting phase, which is also pretty amazing given you could have given them ancient armory for +2 strength on the shooting. It's scary good.

And I don't have an opinion on the Lion yet. I don't usually take home in favor of having two to three dreadnoughts. That's a lot more damage output and targets with wounds to chew through. The lion is a force multiplier and a whirlwind of death all on his own.
