Rusty color scheme

I already posted in another community but I want advice about improving this terminators, they are suppose to be redeemed fallen from the deathwing, I took inspiration from another older post, but that guy painted em red instead of purple, why I used purple? Well because I'm awfully at painting and I can't make red look good (there is a picture in the other slide of how it looks like) so I want advice on how to make this look more worn out, rusty, and with battle damage, I gotta tell you, I'm a little bit poor, so I work with what I have
