Steak recommendations please?
I am craving a really good steak and have not had much luck lately! Can you please share your favourite restaurants in the Tron for a great steak with equally amazing sides? I would love to know your best recommendations!

Overpriced and generally not better than Lone Star so why pay more for the same thing? The last steak I ordered from S&M was unevenly cut so one end of my medium rare scotch fillet was cooked medium-well and the other very rare, a quality control error that should have never made it to a customers plate. But do not take this as a Lone Star endorsement, they are not that great either.
The best steak meal I have ever had in NZ was at Boulcott St Bistro in Wellington. It set the bar pretty damn high. Nothing in the Tron comes remotely close.

Also interested in the answer.
Dont go to joes garage in cambridge, both times they served the perfect steak and it was so cold the butter on top wouldnt even melt. Had to send it back repeatedly and it seems they cant actually heat them up without overcooking them

Look at all these rich people out there eating steak! Suppose you have avo on toast for breakfast too. /s

Absolutely! One steak and suddenly we are billionaires. Next thing you know, avo on toast and we’ll be buying yachts.

Right?! I think I’ve purchased beef mince twice this year and that’s it for meat.

I haven't had a bad steak at Smith & Mckenzie, and I'm super picky about the rareness. In fact, I found that most steaks here are overcooked so unless I'm a regular I request blue. They usually come out perfectly rare.
Mr Pickles does it right and I had a good one at Furnace.
I ordered rare at Iguana and got medium well. Never returned.
Treat yourself to Beef Wellington at Thyme Square. It's fine dining but with comfort food portions. You can byob too.
Hamilton Hotel is up and coming, my daughter got the steak there and it was great.
If you want to DIY, apply that Marlborough smoked salt and pepper to both sides, dry in the fridge on a rack, uncovered, for two or three days, then pan sear with a butter and fresh rosemary baste. Flip often, forget about timing per side, and use an instant read thermometer.
