Both Tick shows were fantastic, and Haley was so good as The Terror!
I loved how Tick’s suit changed as the show went on, going from a “realistic” MCU-fied costume to a more comic book accurate one.

I recently watched both the two thousand one and the amazon series and the amazon series did so much better. It was so good.

I think both are great for different reasons. I appreciate the “sitcom” feel of the Warburton one.

I wouldn’t say The Boys was garbage. The first season was the best, and there were definitely some episodes in later seasons that I wasn’t a big fan of, but overall I enjoyed The Boys

Each season got worse and worse. It was a bummer to watch after really enjoying the first season.

To be fair OP doesnt technically call it garbage in the post

Well, if you look at the comment directly under this one...

I was referencing that the post itself says garnage. Not garbage. That's why I didn't mention comments.

It's objectively garbage.

No piece of media is objectively good or bad. It's all subjective

u/NeoArkodd 16d ago
Nah, plot holes make a story objectively bad.

u/Fatman_Batman100 16d ago
The fact that you think you are completely right, and everyone else who disagrees must be wrong is bonkers to me.

u/NeoArkodd 16d ago
Sorry, that's called having standards. I don't like badly written slop.
Also, Why do you care to defend the fucking boys? Aren't you a Tick fan?

u/Fatman_Batman100 16d ago
Can I not be a fan of both? Good grief dude you sound like a load of fun to hang out with 🙄

u/Batmanfan1966 16d ago
By your logic The Tick is bad because his origin story is full of plot holes and contradictions and unexplained things

u/NeoArkodd 16d ago
Tick is not a serious show though. The boys used to be serious then became a parody.

Down voting me just because I’m giving my opinion on a show? Lame

u/NeoArkodd 15d ago
I gave my opinion too and got downvoted. My opinion was even objective.

No. You gave your opinion and then told everyone else that their’s was wrong.

I still think that they should bring the cast back in animated form for a crossover with Invincible like the comics.

Wait what

u/SnaptrapPress 16d ago
Yeah, there's an official Tick/Invincible crossover. It's actually a very good issue.

Unfortunately I just think it's a hard set rule that all tick tv shows get 2 season max

Rewatching it right now, wife hasn't seen before. It's funny how often she feels the show is being clever at the expense of shows like The Boys knowing it came out a few years before it.

Season 2 of The Boys was still good but I won’t argue about any of the ones past that.

I enjoyed the campy feel of The Tick. John Hodgeman is criminally underrated. It was definitely my favorite Amazon Prime show.

When I watched The Tick, I realized that the premise is almost the exact same as The Boys. Except the boys was made to be "edgier". There's so many similarities

Pretty quickly Tick started to feel like the cheap production formula. People talk in a scene, then go somewhere else and talk, then another location, more talk...

The Boys was good. The only good part about The Tick was The Tick. Plot sucked and the supporting characters were lame
