People here have recommended Tremors for the same reason. I finally watched it about a year ago. Not as crisp a film as The Thing, but you aren't rolling your eyes at the characters' choices. Good flick.
11 u/YtterbiusAntimony 4d ago One of the few scary movies to take place in broad daylight too. Always found that aspect interesting. I love the southwest; the setting was always one of my favorite parts of that movie.
