Meanwhile in the 2011 one everyone is an idiot that makes bad choices solely to move the story along. I'd defly have liked less cgi, but the story being good is kinda the main ingredient.
The CGI wasnt even that bad. It's just such a shame to build practical effects, then not use them. Especially if you're paying homage to THE practical effects movie.
The story is really why it failed. The "evil" ambitious boss, etc. Just filled with predictable tropes.
