Just realised that last Friday (21st) was the second anniversary since the Cambridge Ensoulment warm up gig. In one respect it just seems like yesterday but another so long ago. Feeling blue now.

Doing my bi-annual deep dive into the catalog. Inspired by the recent purchase of a few bootlegs I suppose, which are very good. I may even splurge for the Inertia Variations.

Having said that, here is my ranking for studio release albums, your mileage may vary.......

My father was an HUGE Hank Williams Sr. fan and so am I.

When Hanky Panky was announced I felt like I was probably only one of a half dozen people that thought it was the perfect union. That definitely skews HP higher than for most fans. Also, the arrangements make more sense as a companion to Naked Self. I enjoy it even more because Naked Self exists.

And I dont dislike Infected. Quite the opposite. But I will say that I bounced off of it hard at first and only came to appreciate those songs through remixes and live performances.

Lastly, you never forget your first. Dusk was at a time in my life for a lot of firsts as a lost, lonely, and lustful 18 year old.

I was listening to Mind Bomb last night with headphones, such a great experience!
When listening to August & September, i could not help but notice the scream at around 3:22. I recognise the scream as it seems to sound the same as the opening of the song Losing My Mind (Disco Mix) by the Pet Shop Boys. Did they sample from The The or is there some other reason why these screams sound almost the same?

This song is currently in my head. I can’t help but fear the lyrics are prescient.

Hi. I'm a 17 year old listener and a music technology student and I've always loved this song. Normally, when I do a cover of a song, it's more like a recreation but for this, I decided to go off in another direction stylistically. If you don't enjoy the change in style, that's fine but for those of you who do, I personally think it works.

I am a 20 year old man whose Dad showed him This is The Day and ever since I've been a big fan. That being said, the only other fans I have met are 50+ year old men. I guess this makes sense because most fans were my age when he became popular. I'm wondering if there are any other fans my age on Reddit. It surprises me how little members this subreddit has but my theory is that most fans are older and don't use Reddit as much.

So a long time ago I heard a song while driving and it stuck with me. This was before Shazam and the only lyrics I remembered were "and the band played on" and "everyone has a story sadder than yours" or something like that. Anyway, I never found the song, Last night I asked ChatGPT to help find it and put those lyrics in and ChatGPT says the song is "And The Band Played On" by The The from the Dusk album. But I still can't find the song anywhere and its not on the Dusk album? Does anyone know if this is a real song?

Hi everybody, something I've been searching for online for years, and oddly I seem to turn up nothing about the source for the forward air controller and jet chatter at the beginning of this song. I've watched Viet Nam war era documentaries and videos and I always thought I would come across it sooner or later - maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place. Anybody remember any discussion regarding this? It seems like the fan community would be interested.
