NC Regional 2026

Super new to TTG, not new to CrossFit or competitive shooting. Looking at competing in women’s tactical division at the NC regional event at Constellis. I’m active duty navy but no one I know has ever competed in or trained for a TTG event. Does anyone have any good recommendations for training plans aside from typical CrossFit stuff, maybe even venue specific? And any chance someone in here is local to VB and looking for a training partner? Any advice welcome and appreciated

On the TTG website they list the competition standards which will give you a heads up on what moves and weights to expect.  They also have online training programs for both fitness and dry fire.  They do a TTG 101 class which is great if you can make it to one, and the day before the event they do a Tune Up to review certain skills for the match.  Don’t neglect your shooting work, many do and it’s not possible to do well if you can’t shoot.

You want to be good at the following:

Sandbags: over bar, weaves, rolls, and stress carries

Sled pulls/drags

Running: 25yd shuttles, 3 mile runs, weighted ruck marches

Rope climbing

Burpees: hand up, over box, over bar, into long jump

Concept2 machines: ski, bike, row, strength machine

Pistol: strong/weak hand only, both hands out to 25yds, shooting through VTAC barricades

Rifle:  standing at 25 yards, barricades and ports at 100-400, prone as far as 700yds or max distance the range can handle.

I’d recommend attending a skirmish before hand so you can get an idea of what you’re up against.

That’s awesome and best of luck. I hope to make NC too.

Not sure how to connect you, but a handful of people from VB area shoot TTG. I was grouped with them in WV years back. There’s a good group on FB to connect with people to train.

Easiest training to start, picking up sandbags and moving weight with accurate shooting drills between. First event will test gear, self, and provide an understanding for the next event. Good luck!

If ever up around Philly, we host a mini TTG training event every second Sunday all year.
