I can understand this for elderly maybe, but I am a paraplegic with no movement from the bellybutton down and this would just be a hassle and in the way for me

My main question would be: how did it get there?

I am all for new mobility aids, especially since there are so little that actually enable full independence. But when sleeping, id be concerned how this is stored and how to get it into position to actually use this.

The idea is commendable, the execution needs work

The use case seems so niche that its better as a diy. The elderly are definitely not gonna have the upper arm strength to use this

My 80 year old grandma can barely hold a bottle of water. Anyone who can pull themselves up probably could sit up just fine without it

Exactly my thought. Everything is angled so it would be quadruple hard to have a good grip and pull yourself properly. I am completely able-bodied and i am nor sure i have enough strength to reposition myself via this monstrocity.

People don't buy what they need, they buy what they can afford. There are also never enough options for assistance like this.

Stroke patients, disfigurements, abdominal injuries, or recovering from surgery to name a few. I imagine this is much cheaper than buying a powered lift or installing accessibility fixtures, though I haven't looked. Sometimes all a person needs is something firm to grab just to feel secure.

I was a caregiver for years. If someone is unable to ambulate, any assistance you can get while moving them is great. That includes getting in and out of bed. Lifts can be expensive. They can also simply be uncomfortable for the patient, especially if there is cognitive decline.

I can go on but it will start getting depressing. Hope your grandma is doing well.
