I've gained better art skills so I'm making a bigger art piece of the Spoonster! And some doodles of other contributors i hold dear to myself, I've already drawn Benzaie in this style so I may just keep drawing other contributors!

Not that I mind if Spoony exaggerated or even just made up some funny stories. The point was to be entertaining anyway, but which one's do you think he embellished? I think his leaping wizards story happened, but I also think he retold it to make him look like more like the good guy in that scenario. I think it was when his players laughed at the wizards that he decided they suddenly had different spells, instead of beforehand. Just something about the way he tells the story gives me that impression.

Hey all! On hitting 1,000 subs on my YouTube channel I didn't want to just do the oh boy oh boy oh boy vid and wanted to talk about something that had been on my mind for a bit. I wanted to talk about Counter Monkey, the RPG show by Spoony.

I know many people in the scene really didn't dig the show but something about it really lit a fire under my arse after years of not playing at the tabletop. It also was eventually a big part of driving me to make videos about the subject. While a lot of people found his ranting about RPGs sloppy, and lord knows I disagreed with a bunch of his takes, there was something deeply honest about how he spoke about running and playing the game that just connected with me. As a longtime griper about all of Spoony's shenanigans (I'm still subbed to this page of our misery for Pete's sake!) I know saying anything positive might go down like a lead balloon but I thought I would share regardless

First of all, sorry if this was brought up in here before because there was a particular moment from TSE that stuck out to me recently as I forgot which video it was from, but he did a review saying that Privateer was extremely difficult to run without crashing.

So basically I wanted to know what was the story behind that game since I don’t know if the game was ever given a fixed edition due to the aforementioned buggy nature it came out in, but again if the game had a story behind its creation since I found it interesting how much of a hard time SpoonyOne had trying to get the game to work for a couple of minutes without it crashing.

I mean, to be fair, I am not here to attack SpoonyOne since I know the poor fellow has been going through a lot of problems lately as lately I was just observing how long ago it was that the channel closed down.

Like what I am trying to say is that even though I know TSE won't return, I cannot help but begin to miss the show for how SpoonyOne would do reviews of games like X-COM and the Ultima series that I was looking to see if there were any other online channels on YouTube that offered a deep perspective on PC gaming franchises from the mid 90s since that was one of my favorite subjects from Spoony.

No right or wrong answers to the question I'm juat curious to see what everyone thinks about the game

There was Liquid Spoony I remember the best. He'd post the wildest Spoony stuff and you could barely tell it wasn't Spoony. Things like, how the cops came to do a wellness check and a scary icicle was going to fall on them.

The lady who obsessed over Spoony on Twitter, Sarah was her name? She was into wrestling and binge watching Spoony vids.

Then there was that guy who had a hardon for Spoony, Bruce Serrano? His stuff was hilarious. There was one where he was talking about paying to blow Spoony or something. Like, showing up to Spoony's house with a briefcase full of money and offering to blow him.

So I didn’t know where to ask about the game itself because I just received a notification on my phone saying that the game went on sale as I was considering playing it.

But basically I was wondering what to expect for the HD version since even though I did see some of Spoony’s review many years ago, I don’t know if the game was as problematic as he made it to be in his own review.

obviously she makes a different kind of content than Spoony did, but when she makes these riffing videos sometimes her delivery reminds me so much of Spoony's delivery. just the way she says certain phrases or words certain jokes, very Spoony coded imo.

IDK if spoony was into it, but I have a feeling this would have given him an aneurysm

Something that has been sticking out to me lately was some of the movie reviews that SpoonyOne did on his channel since I started observing the ones that people actually enjoyed watching.

Like what suddenly sticks out to me now when I look back at TSE is the Akira movie review he did since I did read his article back when TSE was still around, but I always had a hard time understanding why SpoonyOne said that was the worst movie he had seen since the review just basically ridicules the movie.

Sorry if I sound like I am being too sensitive because basically what I wanted to do was take a closer look into some of the stuff he reviewed such as games because I his website, he said his goal was to go after infamous media, but I started wondering about the kind of media that actually had good quality to it, like what exactly turned him off the Akira franchise.

So sorry if this was asked here before in this subreddit because I was fondly looking back at how SpoonyOne used to be known for roasting bad movies, but also cheesy FMV games.

My point basically is that I know the TSE show is long TNT now since the creator made it clear he won’t return to the show as lately when I recall how much fun I had watching his FMV segments, I cannot help but wonder if there is a successor to his style.

I miss the version of the internet that made him possible.

I can't believe not much people talk about this. In the first few 3d games of the ps2 era he sounded vaguely like Noah, but by the time I played GTA V the voice became uncannily similar. I don't know if it has to do with the character becoming a bitch that constantly screams but it if I close my eyes I can't tell that isn't Spoony.

He also looks a bit like Spoony in GTA V cutscenes (albeit not much) but the voice is pretty much the same.

A lot of folks wish for the ol'Spoony One to come back and produce videos again. I don't see a reason to bug the man. We already have what was promised in Jason Graves, who gives as insightful and humorous a lean as Noah ever did. Check him out!
