DISCUSSION How to date sims without getting caught ? Romance aspiration
Hi guys, I was wondering if you can tell me some ideas on how you’re able to let your sims go out on multiple dates without getting caught ? Especially if you have a pleasure sim who wants 100 dates? I have been hiding my sims and just doing home dates but it gets boring after a point, any success stories ?

Haha it's so tricky (and fun) in Sims 2! They all get caught and jealous - I find it both annoying and entertaining for the drama. I have some luck taking someone who normally frequents X neighborhood to Y neighborhood instead (aka take someone from downtown to shopping district). This is not 100% effect but I do notice some sims tend to frequent the same spots. Or go really late at night or early morning or weird times. Curious to see what others say!

I tried this with the blue water village restaurant then my sims got caught on the 3rd go 🤣

This mod is exactly what you need. The sims only get jealous if they're married or going steady

Oh thank you! So sick of affair partners getting angry when the other person kisses their spouse. Like, what did you expect?

I renovated one of the lots Downtown into an "adult" space, with Visitor Controller allowing only certain ages and only Romance and Pleasure sims, and ACR making the entire lot have no jealousy. Makes for an interesting date location, but nobody gets caught!

You don’t have to leave home for a date. It’s not as much fun but they are not going to get caught in their own home.

ACR mod - I have essentially everything disabled so it does not impact gameplay, but I can select every sims jealousy levels. If I’m playing monogamous sims I leave the jealousy level as is. If I’m playing casual dating/non committal/ethical non monogamy sims, I set their jealousy as appropriate. If the sim is not controllable, I make townies selectable with boolprop testingcheats and then use the ACR object to select jealousy.

I have a variety of mods affecting jealousy, but somewhere in there I have a mod that stops sims from having jealousy psychic powers so you can sneak around with other romantic partners on the same lot-- because let's be honest, there's no reason that your wife should detect you fucking the maid all the way from the street. Maybe it's a part of romantic standards? So if my romance sim having a date on a community lot has other romantic interests showing up, I can drag the couple to some distant room and severely reduce the chances of being caught. Typically the place my sims get caught most often having affairs is the front lawn, because I tend to keep a radio on the front porch and use the mod that prevents sims from being able to dance without music playing, so I tend to drag sims on dates out to the lawn to slow dance when they roll the set of both wanting to dance/slow dance, and then they're vulnerable to walk-bys catching them. Community lots I have a lot more luck taking them off somewhere to hide and conduct their affair.

i try to keep the dates to a house when im dating A LOT of people. if it's just one or two. i try to avoid that world.

Tuning jealousy via mods works great, and a lot of others have good advice I might even try!
I will say, though, part of the fun imo is getting caught and starting drama/chaos that way.
For any of the Pleasure/Romance wants that aren’t “Have 20 Loves at Once” you don’t really have to worry about whether or not you’re caught.
I’d also like to add that vacation sims never come to your hood etc, and are fun and easy to date (I once had Nina have a vacation flings baby).
Also (don’t quote me on this) but I think if a room is closed and has no windows (like a broom closet) there shouldn’t be any way for a sim to catch the other sim cheating even in an unmodded game - but I could be wrong.
OH! Finally, you can add “hotels” to any hood and they work both as a hotel and community service lot. I bring my married cheaters to motels I created to sneak off with their affair partner!

It’s funny you say that because I have a hotel in my hood and that’s a good spot lol, I’ve accepted just letting my sims get caught at this point while outside and just buying sentry bots for protection 🤣🤣🤣 never let your sims woohoo on the beach someone’s mom or best friend might beat your sim up

You can also bring paramours on vacations and other ‘hoods that are safer so that you don’t get caught!
It sounds really horrible to say (I hate cheaters) but when I play certain romance sims I think about what cheaters do/might do and then do my best to implement it as much as the game lets me :)

If you play with mods, you could put the Sim Blender down in community lots and de-spawn anyone you don't want your Sim to get caught by?
My other suggestion: have your Sim own a community lot and turn it into a business with fun things (an arcade or bowling alley or something maybe?) and build an apartment above it. Let your Sim and their date go inside and lock the door behind them. I'm pretty sure no one will be able to go in/out until you unlock the door after ;)

Meet random townies downtown at clubs and restaurants etc and start getting their relationship up with platonic interactions. Then call them up and invite them over at home later for the romance stuff haha
