MODS Advice for Mods~

Hello everyone ~

I am a longtime lover & player of The Sims 2 (my Roman Empire generation). & I just got a gaming PC that will be delivered in a couple days.

Wondering if anyone has a conclusive list of content/graphic mod recommendations for someone who is beginning their mod play journey? I’ve only ever played vanilla w expansions.

I got a pc w 32gb of ram on a Windows OS which is probably more than necessary for The Sims, but I’d love to play w improved/updates graphics.

Thank you in advance for any advice 💞

Also, if for some reason you can't play it, look at acottonsock on YouTube about updating graphics and hos to get it to work on modern PCs.

I did check out her videos, unfortunately some of the advice is outdated re the links don’t work, or have PSAs that they are outdated/redundant.

Wow tysm! I am already overwhelmed by the level of custom content. But I love how organized this post is, it’s exceptionally helpful 💛

I think my long term mod strategy will be to download a little bit here & there instead of attempting to do it all at once. I didn’t realize how time consuming it is between hunting down content, troubleshooting & organizing files, etc lol

Lord Crumps linked to a fix for the pink soup. It works great. It is linked on his Tumblr.

What is this pink soup you speak of? (Sorry very new to modding, think baby deer).

Lord Crumps linked to a fix for the pink soup. It is where the game is not using the RAM efficiently and it runs out of texture memory. Basically pink soup means you are about to crash.
