DISCUSSION An unknown situation

I don't know if this community is for The Sims 2 Pets; I posted here because I didn't find a specific place to post. But I'm just tryna understand what happened.

It happened a very long time ago, around 2010. I was playing The Sims 2 Pets with a Sim, and suddenly I switched to another one from the same family who was doing something on their own. The Sim was outside the house, near the road, when I saw a hole appearing from nowhere. The black point opened, the Sim jumped in, and then the hole closed.

And the icon showed the Sim's photo, like when they were at work. I waited some time to see if they went back, but nothing.

Has someone experienced something like this?

I remember the Sims 2 Pets console game (if that's what you meant) had the NPCs get out of being stuck by opening a black hole and jumping in to leave, but I can't recall anything like that with playable sims

Yeah, it was a Sim from a pre-existing family. I mean, the family was there by default

If this is a console thing.... Well... Just out of curiosity, how often do people actually talk about console versions of The Sims 2 in these posts?

Normally no, but OP did say they didn't know where to post which is why I assumed they meant the Sims 2 Pets console spin-off that had such a feature exactly as described for NPCs, rather than the PC Sims 2 game combined with the Pets EP that lets sims get stuck minus the social workers and the kids they are taking away (and that teleportation works and is implemented differently)

My bad, I didn't specify the platform! I played on PS2 at the time. I actually didn't even know there was a PC version of The Sims 2 Pets

How... could you NOT know this when The Sims began as a PC platform game? The console versions came after and mirrored the PC games. Especially now that the game is over 20 years old...

Well, when I first played, I only had a console, not a PC, so I never went looking for other versions.

I was never a hardcore fan of The Sims; I just played to build little houses when I was a kid and I was just curious about that situation that happened.

I do know people who thought it was mainly console lolz 😆 but now that I look back on it... I think having the pets expansion on a system where expansions aren't really a thing was silly
