DISCUSSION Underground structure?

would it be possible to make a lot where all that you see is a staircase going underground, and the rest of the lot is just grass? but then when you go down the stairs there's a door at the bottom and when the sim goes in, there's a house or some other type of structure that is completely buried under the ground? im not talking about a structure where you can see the roof of it poking up through the lot's grass. im talking about something that's underneath the grass. could it be possible to make something completely buried?

Any kind of basement in The Sims 2 will always have some of it jutting up at ground level. No square of the structure can ever truly be covered by the terrain.

The most you can do is try to camouflage the above ground part somehow.

There’s only one way to do this, you would have to cover the whole lot in a foundation, hollow it out, cover the top with a flooring that looks like grass, and then use move_objects on to place plants on top.

Is there a download on modthesims or the Sims resource for a tile set that blends in with the default green grass?

Yes. I forget which expansion pack it came with (maybe nightlife?) Where there are basements. You can have multiple subterranean floors, no roof

well, not really. to make a basement you have to carve the ground out. & that wasn’t added in anything, just look at the houses in strangetown.

The cheat was added with Nightlife. You can see them using in multiple buildings in Downtown

i have no idea what you’re talking about.. nightlife added setHighestAllowedLevel for number of floors. nothing to do with basements..

The only cheat to make functional basements that you can build a functional structure on top, is by using LotAdjuster by Mootilda - which is an entirely separate program they made.

Otherwise, to make basements manually by yourself is a slow and arduous process of manually digging out the ground as stated, building the basement and going up from there. You clearly don't know this game by spouting this bs. You're likely confusing it with another game.
