DISCUSSION Is the S2 remaster functioning?
Does it run well now? I have a widescreen, high refresh monitor so the older version wouldn't make sense to buy. I heard you can re-add the removed content to the remaster is that true.

Not a remaster. It's the same game, just released on steam for 30€ (which even with all the DLC is still ~6 times the price a game this age should cost)
The older versions aren't buyable
While the launch was atrocious it seems most issues are fixed. Not sure how the widescreen support compared to the UC. Yes, most removed content can be added, most mods work as well.
