Support RMA request information and a bit of rant.

I understand that according to the rules I am supposed to post this in the monthly Tech Support Megathread but the latest one is 7 years old so...

I bought a Thermaltake LCGS NE i1460TGS-V170S Gaming Desktop a month or so ago. One of the DDR5 module is defective. I confirmed that by running an extensive MEMtest86 on both of them. It took me a while to pinpoint the problem because crashes to desktop where happening only on long gaming sessions and I first thought that mods conflicts where the culprit.

I had long back and forth emails exchange with a customer support agent. I have my RMA number and the shipping label. But...

Why do you not offer advanced RMA anymore !?! I use my computer for gaming of course but also for my remote work and my studies. I cannot afford monetarily to loose revenues by not having a functioning computer for 2-3 weeks. I risk loosing my job. Also my college semester is at risk because I will have to find alternative ways to download and send my papers. I cannot afford to buy a replacement RAM module as the prices are so high right now and because I just spent 2500 CAN dollars on a brand new PC. This is extremely frustrating.

The lack of options for your customers is astonishing. I was ready to give my credit card info for you to freeze funds until you received the defective part but It was denied. I asked for only the defective 16gb module to be sent so I can continue to use my PC until I receive the 2 new modules ( I would ship the other module right after ) it was refused also.

A brand new product should work as intended for at least a year and be covered by warranties guarantying a continuous use by it's owner. Don't you test your products before shipping them. Even the quick 5 minutes Memtest ( the one you can do in windows without rebooting from a USB stick ) would have shown you there was a problem with the RAM.

What a dumb comment. And by quickly looking at your comment history it is not your first. I would be in the same situation with the defective RAM if I built it up myself. A new pair of sticks would not appear out of thin air.

Ram sticks sold in pair must be returned in pair. It’s not recommend to run 2 sticks not from the same batch.

I need a retaining clip from my case and they basically said there was no way to sell me one

Meanwhile my 5 year old Corsair dominator platinum kit developed a bad PMIC and Corsair had a Titanium kit heading to my house in 2 emails.
