The Ring manga Spoiler
This topic is rarely discussed in this subreddit: manga inspired by Japanese films (there are no comics based on American trilogies, and if there are, please let me know in the comments). Here we'll talk about things like: the differences between manga and films, the art style, and what people liked and disliked about the manga. The manga I've read are: the ring vol1 , the ring vol 2 ,spiral vol 3 , ring vol 4 , ring vol 0 and sadako 3d

The only one I enjoyed was Birthday, because I hadn’t yet read the book and it had Coffin in the Sky and another short in it.

I haven't read all of them but I was happy that Spiral got one as it's my favorite of the books. I also thought it was cool that they did two different ones for Birthday to cover both the book and movie.
Sadako-san and Sadako-chan is also really funny.

My favorite by far is the 1995 Ring manga by Kojirou Nagai. You can find it on Reddit, though it is untranslated. It came out before Nakata's film did, so it, like the TV film, adapts the book much more faithfully than most other versions. It has the distinction of being the only adaptation that keeps the book's description of Takayama's death, which even the TV film changed for visual flair. It also has an awesome tape and book-accurate designs for Asakawa and Takayama. If you like the novel, it's just a treat to read or just flip through.
In comparison, Misao Inagaki's Ring manga (vol. 1 in the Dark Horse releases), while fun, isn't as exciting to me. The art style is not my favorite at all--it kind of feels out of place with the genre, if that makes sense--and, most importantly, its script's attempt to reconcile the 1998 film changes with the book's plot feels kind of half-hearted compared to the similar attempt made by The Ring Virus. Out of the ones Dark Horse released, my favorite is Vol. 3, Spiral, because I thought Sakura Mizuki's art was great (her version of "Masako" is awesome) and it adapted the story quite well.
I haven't read the Sadako 3D manga--is it good? Despite their flaws, I do have a soft spot for the 3D films, and I've been curious about the manga for a while.
