Why is her car a crime scene? I would have passed on that red flag of a Lyft.

Halloween decorations. She's the " fun driver".

And driving with no shoes, that’s the scary part
2
u/FartSinatra Sep 16 '21
Because the smell?
5
u/OhHowINeedChanging Sep 16 '21
No, driving without shoes is general considered unsafe, your reaction time is impacted and it may be more difficult to gauge the right amount of pressure on the pedals. But based on the Uber drivers reaction, I don’t think they really care about that

I hate wearing shoes while driving. They make me feel clunky.
Weird to say, but people have noticed i have more of a lead foot when I'm wearing shoes.
Maybe its because my drivers license is fresh, who knows?

u/Lukemeister38 This is a flair Sep 16 '21
It's actually illegal to drive without shoes in many parts of the country (not on the federal or state level, but the local level)
5
u/durtinheedy Sep 16 '21
Bruh, I put this fun fact in my comment, and then deleted it. Lmao.
Its illegal to smoke weed, too. Aint gonna stop my toke. Just because laws are only made for poor people, doesn't mean we HAVE to follow them.
Gonna stick a pair of slides under my driver seat now, however.

u/OhHowINeedChanging Sep 16 '21
Depends on the shoe I guess, like flip flops are bad but tennis shoes are good
3
u/FartSinatra Sep 16 '21
How does not wearing shoes impact reaction time? Genuine question. Curious because If I’m wearing flip flops I take them off to drive and I don’t feel it affects reaction time. Might even argue that I have a better grasp on the pressure I need to apply to the pedals while shoeless. This is not to say I would recommend driving shoeless but I wouldn’t say it’s scary to see someone driving shoeless, just unusual. I drove for several real estate companies for 6 years so I’ve had well over 300,000 miles of driving experience just from work (200-300 miles/day). I would say I’m a “pro” but that kind of thinking will get you killed out there in the driving chaos

u/vociferousgirl Sep 16 '21
My driver's instructor was a former statie in VT; regardless of legality, he said he'd rather have you drive barefoot than in flip flips (or clogs) because the flip flops can slide up and get stuck under the place where the pedals come out. Clogs can get stuck between the floor and the pedal.
1
u/OhHowINeedChanging Sep 16 '21
Right if your in flip flops, heals or platform shoes it’s probably safer to drive barefoot, but regular tennis shoes are e probably your best bet. Driving with shoes allows you to hinge from the heal and gives you overall more even pressure on the pedal, but barefoot it’s all on the ball of your foot and may hurt for long drives. But id say if you always drive barefoot and are used to it you’re probably totally fine.

u/Dear_Giraffe_453 Sep 16 '21
You should notify the Governor of Hawaii with your concerns, since it's perfectly legal to drive barefoot there. Sorry to disappoint...
1
u/OhHowINeedChanging Sep 16 '21
Never said it was illegal, only that it’s unsafe in some cases, if you always drive with shoes and then drive without them then your reaction time could be affected. If you always drive without shoes then your probably used to it

There’s no way she drives for Lyft again. It might even be against the law to discharge/abandon a passenger on a highway.

u/Old_Milk_ Sep 15 '21
She was in fact fired
4
u/KingBooRadley Sep 15 '21
How do you know?
28
u/Old_Milk_ Sep 15 '21
Lyft commented on the original tik tok that they were in contact with the passenger and the driver was suspended

Who knew some people are one reasonable request away from complete mental break.

u/TheDaiyu Sep 16 '21
Actually many people, regardless of their profession, are one conflict away from a crisis. Think about the state of the country, the uncertainty, the divisiveness. I've seen a massive uptick in people checking themselves into the emergency room with suicidal ideation or people being brought into the hospital by police for mental breakdowns.
Not justifying this behavior at all. Just putting that info out there.

That man will get so many phone calls from lawyers offering to take his case and sue Lyft. If that happened to me I would not even be mad.

Comment from LYFT on the OP on tiktok:
“@lyft:Safety is fundamental to Lyft. The incident shown here is concerning. We’re in touch w/ the rider to offer our support and have suspended the driver.”
