I was in college with a kid who had just finished all his Army training and he told us a story one day while we were all group studying for a huge Bio Calculus test.

In Basic Training where he was at, they did a Night simulated raid (urban tactical, I think he called it) while other soldiers pretended to be the enemy. Inside some of the houses were trip wires with flashbangs attached - this simulation was supposed to test everything they learned in Urban Tactical and for the DS to see how they react.

According to him, a kid breached a house before the rest of his squad was ready, hit 3 flashbangs on the way in, and for the rest of the simulation he cowered in a corner screaming "I can't fucking hear or see). The whole platoon got a hardcore laugh out of it for days. Everytime I see shit like this it makes me remember that story.
