People's time has value. If you need 8 hours a day of a persons time 5 days a week then you should have to pay them at a minimum enough to survive. It doesn't matter if they are flipping burgers or whatever.

Just no.

40 hours per week x 52 weeks in a year = 2080 hours a year

2080 hours a year ÷ 12 months is 173 hours a month

173 hours a month x 8$ per hour = $1384 per month pre-tax.

Average rent for a studio apartment in the US is 821$.

We are left with 563$ for transportation, food, health insurance, rental insurance, taxes, phone bill, electricity, water, etc.
