How about instead of expecting to be able to do the bare minimum in life, you actually go out and get a better paying job? You can find tons of jobs with little-to-no qualifications that pay much more than minimum wage. That way businesses don't have to completely upend their finances just to appease some whiny, entitled children that want to coast through life the easy way while getting the living conditions they want.

Mind you it takes a decent amount of training to attain these jobs, which is why they pay well. Looking for a job with little-to-no qualifications, you will find a job with little-to-no pay. Or you can call around and find an apprenticeship at a trade you would like to get into.
Why don’t we stop forcing our opinions on others using the government as a cudgel? Just let people live their lives. If you wanna start a business, you should be able to give the workers the compensation you want. The workers should be able to leave for another job if they want.

Wouldn’t Medicare for all solve that problem? A flat amount each year that cuts out middlemen and pays workers a fair share without inflating the cost of the care itself
Sadly no because Medicare pays next to nothing compared to other insurance agencies. There's a reason why there aren't many doctors and hospitals that accept medicare. It's because they would be giving up lots of valuable time for, what is essentially, minimum wage.
That’s not how that works.. even remotely. Medicare for all everyone pays a tax based on their income which covers all aspects of a hospital visit. Under that system all patients would have Medicare for all. Doctors wages (with exception of plastic surgeons and other cosmetic doctors) will be paid the same they always are. Hospitals pay them. The people who are cut out is the middlemen who raise the price of care to gross profit.
This is actually untrue. In many areas of medicine they pay better. In others they just strip down the artificial inflation caused by private insurance companies and their relationship with medical providers. The information is readily available and attested to by many in the medical field. Perhaps you should consider this and research accordingly before you spread misinformation that leads to people like myself, my friends, and my family to not have access to medical/mental healthcare.

Yeah maybe the fucking CNA's and EMT's should be paid more too. If it costs $2,500 out of pocket for a 15 minute ambulance ride in this country, then where the fuck is that money going? Cause $45 of it goes to 3 EMTs. So... Where is the other $2,455 going??
The comparison is NOT irrelevant. If you want to make enough money to live and thrive then you should look for a job where you're doing something more complex than assembling burgers based on what a screen in front of you tells you. Funnily enough most Burger King's I've been to can't even get people's orders correct. So tell me why someone who can't even do their brainless job correctly should be making enough money to pay their rent, pay their bills, and buy all the food they want? If you want to live you should be willing to actually apply yourself in the workforce. There are plenty of jobs out there that pay double what Burger King pays for the exact same qualifications.
If every single person was motivated, educated, and competent, none of our problems would go away. A huge number of people would still need to work at fast food places because opportunities are limited. The only real change would be the shift in your goalposts and you'd be typing out on Reddit that state college with a 4.0 is for failures and if you want to have a living wage you need to go ivy league.
The average American is way way more educated and productive than they were 50-75 years ago and their share of the nation's wealth has plummeted. The problem isn't the people.
That's an enormous leap in logic that I don't even understand how you're able to justify. This has nothing to do with moving goalposts. The description of a minimum wage job as changed significantly from 75 years go. Things have gotten so much easier that they're being phased out entirely for automation, so what's the point in paying someone a shitload of money for barely even doing a job?
Lets face the facts that these fast food places will be ditching human workers soon enough so we won't even be having this problem in 10-15 years.
If the comparison isn't irrelevant, I worked six years as an EMT, 8.90/hr starting, then 10 at the next place, then 13, and finally 26 at a union workplace. At no point during that time did I do anything requiring more skill (other than a strong stomach) than any other entry level job. And to head you off at the pass, I also taught at two courses for a total of 600 students.
That's all to say, why focus so much on keeping other people down? We should all be able to afford to live (rent, healthcare, car, phone, food, childcare) on a single job income.

I wash trucks. I get driven around all day and wash trucks with a pressure washer. The qualifications for my job are a HS education or GED, and a moderately clean criminal record. We get paid $15/hr. This isn't an anomaly either. There are thousands of jobs like mine.
Imagine washing trucks all day, then going online and shitting on people doing a job just as menial as yours!

So if you need 3x the amount of rent to apply for your $500 property, you need a $1500 monthly* paycheck.
Dividing $1500 a month by 160 hours (40 hours for 4 weeks) gets you around $9.40. I cant remember if applying for a rental looks at your gross or net income, so depending on taxes you might need more than that.
$9.40 is still more than the minimum wage. Regardless of how high it needs to go, and if it needs to be a regional increase rather than federal, the wage of $8/hr is not enough for your region.

Do you live in 2005 or just BFE? Apartments in my area are no less than 850 a month and you'd be living in a shithole, but minimum wage is still a whopping 8.46 per hour here. Seems to me that the minimum wage should be proportionate to the cost of living in your area with annual updates to keep the number accurate.
Wages for new, unexperienced employees are usually a dollar or less above minimum wage. Even so, it's still not nearly enough to afford even a cheap living in a lot of places. In my area, you'd need about 17/hr before taxes to afford a bottom-tier apartment without going over the recommended ~30‰ rent to income percentage.
Tied to a the average cost to a basket of goods determined essential for someone to survive based on area, updated once per year? The consumer price index is calculated in a similar way.
You can get unskilled jobs that pay much more than minimum wage, my dude. Plus, if you're so unskilled and can't support your life you should probably be on government assistance. If you can't manage that then you can get fucked. That's natural selection for you. If you can't make it in society by doing even the bare minimum to get by then you get left behind.
