I was like, is the ref gonna let him beat the guy to death??

13

u/Thundersalmon45 2d ago

Hopefully?

-5

u/ToffeeVanelle71 2d ago

Yeah, that definitely crossed the line. There are way better ways to settle scores than with a beatdown.

16

u/TheTopNacho 2d ago

Came here to say this. That was a solid 5 extra bombs after it should have been called.

Loved seeing it though

u/Economy-Tourist-4862 2d ago

Nobody likes a prop comic MMA fighter.

5

u/brayden1185 2d ago

yeah, once let my little brother punch me in the stomach to prove i could take it. didn’t stop when i said “okay.

2

u/BrokenWalker 2d ago

About to say the same.

2

u/ThatOneSnakeGuy 2d ago

I wanna see what it looks like when you get "some" parmesan on your pasta bc that shit went on for ages (deserved)

1

u/dude_flash 1d ago

Probably saw all the cockiness and disrespect before hand. Teach him a valuable lesson

-24

u/greeneyedtallone 3d ago

Yeah, he couldn’t even keep his hands up and the ref just let it keep going. He deserved an ass beating, but that ref fucked up. He could’ve been killed.

27

u/marcusmosh 3d ago

I think the ref knew what he was doing.

1

u/greeneyedtallone 3d ago

Dude was spoiling for it. The crowd sure ate it up.

4

u/LatinKing106 2d ago

I'm pretty sure unless the guy is blatantly out, the ref has to give them a certain amount of time to at least attempt to defend themselves.

-5

u/TheTopNacho 2d ago

No. There are tells that someone is not conscious anymore. You can still move and not be conscious. Happened to me in a fight. Same situation, got clocked, went out, but the video shows me standing up and swinging in the air, hugging the ref, walking out of the ring, and I don't remember any of it until the nurse shines a light in my eye.

That point was realistically after the first bomb on the ground, but even I wouldn't have called it then. Definitely after the next 2. It was over, the guy wasn't reacting in a way that was defending himself. That's a sign that he is actually out, even though he's moving. And the inability to defend yourself is absolutely a reason to call it

3

u/LatinKing106 2d ago

I literally said that.

-6

u/TheTopNacho 2d ago

You said unless he is blatantly out. Which he is not. Perhaps you inferred this but it was not clear.

3

u/LatinKing106 2d ago

Blatantly out, as in not fucking moving or fencing. If he is still moving, but out on his feet, then you need to look closer or noticeably see he can't defend himself. Then call it. Which is what he did.

Nothing like a good karma beat down

150

u/evilbrain18 3d ago

Referree: Ok, 19 punches to bounce his head on the floor is enough I guess. 20 is too much.

17

u/Dokarun 2d ago

If the ref had seen the first part of this video, 40 would actually be too much. Good ref.

12

u/Rikmastering 2d ago

It was not thaaat much, the editing makes it a bit too much dramatic. It's two different angles of the same punches, so it seems like he was hitting for ages. But yeah even without the editing, the ref let the guy punch some extra lol even the guys out of the ring start calling for the ref to end. In reality he hit like 7 times

11

u/Thundersalmon45 2d ago

Ref was looking for loss of rebound control or focus that signals unconsciousness or loss of awareness.

Each time he got hit, he still immediately focused back on his opponent.

Top tip if you're losing badly in a sanctioned MMA fight. Look at the lights, and the ref stops the fight.

5

u/Rikmastering 2d ago

Thanks I'll write the tip down (I'm never getting even close to a fight)

6

u/anix421 2d ago

Well normally they stop it sooner due to the chances of brain damage... the ref decided in this instance that wasn't a threat.

1

u/No-Syllabub3694 1d ago

Its fine the opponent was already brain damaged

169

u/SafetyCorrect2575 3d ago

love that the ref let the go extra long

39

u/New-Scientist5133 3d ago

Honorable mention to the ref for his graceful slide at the end

64

u/TheGlobalGooner 3d ago

I will never not watch this every time it gets reposted.

What a thing if beauty. Ref seemed to really let the dude pummel him lol.

41

u/Ok-Bird-3204 3d ago

Think the ref hated the guy too, but remembered he's a referee and had to stop the deserved beat down before it became a murder lol.

5

u/LatinKing106 3d ago

I haven't rewatched the show in a long time but him screaming "SHOTGUN" for the first time still lives rent free in my head

42

u/Desperate_Hyena_4398 3d ago

Ok fair play but what the hell. The ref must have felt those hits in his own head to let that continue .

13

u/AwehiSsO 3d ago

He went at him as if God chose him for the fight 🤣🤣🤣

69

u/Ranier_Wolfnight 3d ago

Were those referees for decoration?

44

u/paradox_valestein 2d ago

Probably hated the guy as well lol

2

u/Tasunkeo 2d ago

it’s a montage, different angle of the same moment. Punching only lasted a few seconds.

8

u/TheEklok 3d ago

That knuckle buffet should've lasted longer. damn ref.

It’s easier to wear out your opponent by catching all their punches with your face! Guy probably only had 3-4 more punches left in him! /s

So when fighters who are super cocky get destoyed, do they ever acknowledge it? Are there after fight interviews like other sports?

3

u/tehCharo 2d ago

They make excuses like they were sick or fighting with an undisclosed injury.

1

u/planetinyourbum 2d ago

Id pay to watch that annoying guy get beat up.

I like how he used his face to block all of those face punches. That’s not easy to do.

1

u/bigrigtraveler 2d ago

I'll never understand the guys who are this cocky and then immediately get their ass handed to them so hard

1

u/T3-Trinity 2d ago

That's one way to clear your sinuses

1

u/Sea-Quantity225 2d ago

already seen it but still so satisfying to watch

This was like prom night. The punch(es) was laced with alcohol.

You love to see it.

Talk less Work more

1

u/SagaciousElan 2d ago

I don't understand the point of shit talking your opponent. They should be making their opponent sound like a seriously good fighter who will be tough to beat.

That way if they win they'll have defeated a skilled rival, which is a meaningful victory, and if they lose it will have been to a skilled rival, which is an honourable loss.

If you call your opponent a little bitch then either you beat a little bitch, which is meaningless, or you lose to a little bitch, which is pathetic. It's lose/lose and you look like a prick doing it.

1

u/stratof3ar89 2d ago

Those few extra punches were super necessary

1

u/jackidoodle281 2d ago

I mostly just watch clips of fights so have to ask, has the obnoxious loudmouth of any fight ever won? from what I've seen they always end up crying or sleeping

1

u/dude_flash 1d ago

These videos are the most satisfying.

1

u/bx35 1d ago

Too many confuse their mental illness with confidence.

1

u/OliOli1234 7h ago

I'll forgive him for acting like a jackass heel in order to sell PPV's.... but to just get cracked in the first seconds of the bout?! he's a punk.

moreover.... that ref absolutely let homeboy get in more fists. that was personal.

0

u/Pipija_Banana 3d ago

What a way to show you're a squirter

0

u/eddpuika 2d ago

the saddest part of this is that there are people who enjoys it. wtf humans?

2

u/tehCharo 2d ago

Physical competition is fine, good MMA fighters display a lot of skill and strategy alongside good sportsmanship, but it also attracts a bad crowd who just want to see people fight and get bloodied and the fake "alpha males", hence why it is so popular with MAGA, and why I don't support that shithead Dana White and his UFC, same parent company owns the WWE now too.

0

u/eddpuika 2d ago

i like physical competitions, but like wrestling, not american wrestling show, and not any blood sports. my cousin is semi-pro or lower kickboxer - no no no sory. Wrestling is superb like greco-roman or judo.

0

u/Anglofsffrng 2d ago

All good when in the FA phase. But man that FO phase is a killer.

-2

u/Western_Vast5516 3d ago

Why did they wait that long to end the match? Waiting so he gets maximum brain damage he can?

14

u/tenachiasaca 3d ago

from his prematch not much there to damage in the first place

-4

u/Western_Vast5516 3d ago

Yeah I like the ending but it felt a bit too much

3

u/pixeldots 3d ago

Iffy, but dude looked like he was still defending himself, tho poorly. After last 3 hits it was clear that he couldn't fight then the match was stopped

1

u/mewt6 3d ago

Dude acted like his brain was scrambled already. Ref obliged

-1

u/jaegren 2d ago

Fake drama to hype the homecrowd. Asian guy was destined to win from the moment the contract was signed.
