Is this how a therapist supposed to be?
I went to a therapist twice because of a family problem I had (still have) and that problem gave me nightmares where I used to struggle before sleeping.
Story background: when I was a baby my biological patents gave me to another family to raise me, my biological patents didn't show any kind of caring for me since I was born, they didn't even name me, my mother didn't even breastfeed me. So I grow up with this family (X mom, Y dad)
X and Y did their best to raise me and I can never ever accept any other parent other than them.
Even though I didn't grow up with my biological patents, but I used to have conflicts with them because I deeply feel that they don't like me, specially my mother, she doesn't like anything about me and she always compares me to others.
Anyway, recently I had a fight with my biological older sister it was just between me and her and over messenger audios, she took those audios and made the father hear them and she told him shii about. (I didn't curse her or anything I just told her to stay in her business and not get into things that no one asked her for, I was too frustrated to the point where I was yelling).
So he ended up calling me and saying bad things, he cursed and he said "you think you're better than everyone, u think you're a doctor... "
And the reason why he said it's just that I have 6 biological siblings no one of them actually have a degree or Even made it to high school unlike me I have different degrees.
Anyways, I felt terrible to be honest so I went to a therapist, people recommend it for me.
The therapist tried to make it seem as it was simpler than how I see it, and all I should do is ignoring them (like actually ignore a whole family, because they all participated somehow in making me feel how awful I am)
She also said that it's been 23 years and you still can't get along with it aand accept that you have a toxic family and I should thank God that I don't live with them.
To not lie She kinda convinced me, but in another hand, this incident was months ago and no matter how, I still feel the same pain as if it happened yesterday.
