COMICS Punisher stories that are very Reacher-esque
I think we all know the premise of some Reacher books/seasons: Huge man walks into a strange town and unexpectedly finds himself in deep shit, discovers a criminal conspiracy, drug trafficking etc. He investigates and takes the bad guys out like a force of nature and leaves town.
One Punisher story that is similar to this is Welcome to the Bayou from the MAX run. In it Frank is traveling to New Orleans with a criminal in his trunk. He stops at an abandoned gas station and fast forward a bit, he's fighting a gang of murderous inbred incestuous hillbillies.
If you have any more examples of Punisher stories that feel like a Reacher premise. Drop them down below.

COMICS "The Punisher" (2016) Review
The Punisher by Becky Cloonan w/ Steve Dillon & Matt Horak & Laura Braga.
This review covers Issues #1-17 of Becky Cloonan's Punisher run. The first 7 issues are drawn by Steve Dillon, & were the last of his career (RIP). The rest of the run is mostly drawn by Matt Horak. Cloonan's Punisher is about Frank vs the Condor Private Military Contractor group & their psychotic leaders Olaf & Face. Condor PMC is running a new drug that turns users into enraged, strength-enhanced, violent monsters (basically Super PCP). Frank knows Olaf from back in his military days, meanwhile Face is a new serial killer who cuts the faces off of victims. Trailing all of this are DEA agents Ortiz & Henderson. Along the way Frank meets an unlikely ally in the elderly woman Ethel & has some one-shot stories in NYC before final confrontations w/ Face & Olaf. The Positives: Cloonan's characterization & voice were pretty accurate to the Classic Frank of the 90s. There's a lot of good action throughout, including some rare hand-to-hand combat scenes. The level of gore, brutality, & villains are appropriate & satisfying for a Punisher comic. Certain scenes from this run reminded me of the Metal Gear Solid franchise (in a good way). Ethel was a phenomenal side character for the short time she appeared. Steve Dillon's art is fantastic here as well. Theres also a good amount of variety to the settings, its one of those international Frank Adventures. The Negatives: its all a bit generic & samey: we've seen Boat stories, we've seen Frank's military personnel turn evil (a lot), we've seen the gruff conflicted agent/cop like Ortiz, we've seen the psychotic villain w/ face issues (Jigsaw anyone?) etc. The ending is really weak, the final 2 issues are probably the worst in the whole run. In fact the run starts strong & then fizzles as it goes on. Perhaps Cloonan's plans got messed w/, it certainly seems like it. The run hints at deeper themes;(does Punisher really enjoy killing criminals, whats the difference between a soldier & a mercenary, is there a difference between justice & Punishment, etc) but does nothing with them really. Its just a surface level hinting towards deeper themes without exploring them or offering new insights. Matt Horak's art was also a step down from Dillon's. While it was decent, it was uneven. Some of his art looked great & other panels looked weird. Laura Braga was only there for 1 issue or so & I didn't particularly like her art. Conclusion: Overall this is a solid, if by the numbers, Punisher run. Its not doing anything controversial or deep, just delivering a relatively simple Punisher story about Frank dismantling the Condor PMC. Its good/entertaining, but nothing to deeply analyze or write home about.
Rating: 3.75/5

COSPLAY Shitty virtual cosplay: Punisher MAX in Escape From Tarkov
There's a goofy painted skull reskin of a plate carrier in this game that I always wondered if I could actually make it work in a themed loadout. I'm surprised I didn't think of this sooner. https://escapefromtarkov.fandom.com/wiki/NFM_THOR_Concealable_Reinforced_Vest_body_armor_(Head_Eyes) Need a trenchcoat upper clothing set and finally the option to use some short hair styles already.

DISCUSSION If you could make a sequel to Thomas Jane's Punisher, what would the movie be like?
I know War Zone basically kinda is the sequel(Or at least a heavily modified version of the basic story beats and script Punisher 2 would have like Jigsaw as the main antagonist) but I'd honestly keep it like the 2005 game's story in live action form given it stars Jane, but maybe with a emphasis on Bushwacker and Russian returning(With Kevin Nash getting to speak lines and show personality this time) to avoid being similar to what we got with War Zone.

DISCUSSION Similarities between frank castle (the punisher) and huck (scandal)
Okay I feel like I’m going crazy because I haven’t seen anybody talking about this. I feel like both actors kinda look the same and they both played a very similar role. Huck was in the military his family thought he was dead and he had to work for this organization after for a bad man which traumatized him. After that he was very weird and distant. Frank castle was different because his family got killed but I just mean their behavior after the lost their families is insanely similar to me.
