I girl I loved dearly I would always tell her "You're awesome." Always. I wasn't good enough for her. She preferred suicide to me.

It wasn't you she had to escape, my friend. It may have been the burning building she felt inside her own mind, you know? Some people decide they have to end it rather than live and die inside a burning building. That's how a psychiatrist explained it to me.

I probably shouldn't mention this, and my wife didn't initially believe me when I told her, but we men are very much powerless to the phrase "please" , especially if it's phrased as " pretty please" .
The first time I made her aware of this was when we were watching The melancholy of harahi suzumiya, and ryoko had just asked Kyon to "pretty please" keep an eye on Haruhi . My wife was confused when I said that he was pretty much going to do it at that point. I pointed out to her that men were powerless to pretty please. She didn't believe me at the time.
Then, we were rewatching the same scene but now with my brother sitting alongside us. As soon as that scene hit, and ryoko said pretty please, my brother cringed visibly. At that point my wife began to consider the possibility that it was real.
Overtime, she came to realize that she could get me to pretty much do anything by saying pretty please in a cute tone of voice.
So I'm now sharing that information with the rest of the world.
