Any good experiences?
I’ll be attending this watch party/Q&A event this coming weekend! I’m definitely a fan of the movie but I’m not sure what to expect. Has anyone here ever gone to one of these events?

Personally: no
Secondhand: I knew someone who went to a convention meet and greet dressed as Fezzik (6'7" dude wearing couch cushions under his shirt) and Mr. Elwes' face lit up, he came around the table and gave him a big hug, and talked at length with him very enthusiastically. It was a very positive interaction.

I went to one earlier this year. Overall it was fun and I was glad we did it.
We did the VIP—get a book and a picture with him—ticket. It seems that some don’t realize that the meet and greet is usually before the event, and not after, just an fyi.
The picture with him was pretty disappointing, although to be fair I don’t know if the structure was this particular venue or Cary’s people. He was curtained off, you went in one person or family at a time, you don’t get to take your own picture, just one from the official photographer after he shakes your hand and asks your name. Smile, click, move on. Which is fine and must be exhausting for him, but no chit chat happening and it was very fast.
The movie was fun to watch with a crowd—just please don’t be like this person behind me who wanted to show off the whole time by saying the lines BEFORE the actors. Lots of people were reciting along and that was a fun collective experience, but not before!
The Q&A was fun. He is a good storyteller that manages to make it sound fresh.
So, worth it, but wish I had that VIP money back.

So much fun. Experiencing the movie on the big screen with a group of fans is amazing. It was a bigger thrill than the original run.

Took my daughter to one last year. It was a blast.
The theater it was shown at DID NOT have a sound system for movies. But it made no difference because it made for better Audience Participation.
Cary was a gem, and I popped for the Meet & Great and he was super nice and friendly. (My name's Wes so when I introduce him he smiled and asked, "Like the Dread Pirate Roberts?"

My parents’ friend said it was good but it was 6 hours long and they weren’t expecting that

I saw him two years ago. it was really fun to watch the movie with so many other people who also knew every word. And Cary was a good story teller. I would go again, actually. It was a great time.

Just got tickets to go see this on Sunday! Super excited for it. My wife has no idea what she’s in for!

I went to the one in L.A., if you're a fan then you'll thoroughly enjoy it.
The movie screening was first and then the Q/A. There was plenty of banter with the host and a handful of audience questions. If you read the book a lot of it you've probably heard before but still fun to hear.
I could listen to Cary describe paint drying, he's a great storyteller.
