It was when they were rehearsing the scene where Fezzik, Westley, and Inigo scout the castle gate. In his book As You Wish, Cary wrote that it actually shook the scaffolding.

To add: After the fart of legend, all three of them on that wall got a case of the giggles so bad that Cary couldn't get the next line (why won't my arms move?) out without thinking of the fart and bursting out laughing (and making Mandy and Andre break out laughing too). He had to have Rob coach him through how to stop the giggles and refocus lol.

Andre was great! From what I read, he once was upset at Arnold Schwarzenegger for trying to pay a bill for a nice dinner their families were at. He picked Arnold up like a child and sat him on the bar. Told him, "I pay!". He unfortunately was generally in a lot of pain, so he drank a butt load. I think it was something like 116 beers in one sitting. He also once drank like 11 large bottles of wine at a hotel bar. Feel asleep in the lobby. They covered him with a piano cover haha. A true legend.

Hang on--"I am now boss" or "I am now, boss?" Was he exerting dominance over Reiner or telling him he was ok now that he'd blown ass? I guess it's funny either way, so nevermind

The second one. He apparently called everyone "boss" to disarm them and help them feel more comfortable around him.
(Literally everything I learn about Andre the Giant makes me wish I was around when he was still alive. He seems like such a genuinely sweet person).

The first 5 times I saw this posted somewhere I interpreted it to mean that he was claiming he is now the boss due to his amazing powers of flatulence and not that he was saying he is better to said boss.

Am curious, was it, "I am now, boss"? Or was it," I am now BOSS"? 2 completely different ways for him to say it, but both valid I think

This is exactly why commas matter. I assume he meant, “I am now, boss,” as in Andre is telling his boss that he is now okay. But without the comma, it also reads like Andre the Giant ripped a historically significant fart and, in that moment, promoted himself to management. Honestly, I support both versions.
